Just the other day, my brother and I got into a heated debate about the chipsets powering our respective devices, mine is Quadcore Snapdragon 801 chipset powering my Samsung Galaxy S5 and his, Octacore Snapdragon 615 powering his Samsung Galaxy A7. His argument is as follows; snapdragon 615 has more core and so should be faster and better. but I don't think it works like that. Guys what do you think? Quad core Snapdragon 801 and Octacore Snapdragon 615, which chipset is superior |

S801 is definitely faster. U can't compare high end SOC with mid range SOC
Its like comparing 4 body builders with 8 skinny people 1 Like |

S615 should be compared with d likes of s600(high end of first quarter of 2013) let me brake it down S615 has 8 cores 64bit(1.5ghz cortex A53 and 1ghz cortex A53) S600 has 4 cores krait 300 32bit(1.7ghz-1.9ghz depending on oem choice) S801 has 4 cores krait 400 32bit(2.3ghz-2.5ghz depending on the model version) Hope u get it now Note: cortex A53 is 64bit version of familiar cortex A7 32bit(battery efficient) while krait has similar features with cortex A15(high performance) 1 Like 1 Share |

Yuu can't compare more cores to faster cores, Faster cores are actually better. Most apps don't support multi-threading, so basically only 2 cores re utilized the rest are left untouched. Yuu still can't compare 6592 octa to quad krait 600 , Krait still rules. Faster cores affect real life experience. More cores z juhs psychological. Faster cores over more cores. End note. Three 615 chipsets don't stand a single 801 chipset. 2 Likes |

Youngpo413:which I believe has similar performance with cortex A7 |

opestein: But don't you think that s615 being 64 bit capable will have a better chance in the long run than the 32 bit s801, app and OS wise? |

Youngpo413: I think it's a little superior to mediatek MT6592 with 1.4ghz octacore A7 cortez processors. |

If u are one who likes running many apps in the background the octa ore would have more resources for those apps. The truth is that it just does not matter. U 2 can run the same apps with no diSenable difference.so apart from better camera maybe better storage, screen bla bla.performance is pretty dsame although ram could be a factor. Mobile phone is already stagnating that's why these cheap android are taking over. With their mediitek processors. 1 Like |

JustCalMeDBoss: Hmmm, I don't agree. like someone said earlier one is for high end phones and the other for mid range phones, I think that said it all. |
