Leave GDP from this because a country with a small GDP can qualify for more debt than that of a bigger GDP yet a small revenue.

America has a revenue of $4 trillion

their external debt is $18 trillion..

Its $15 trillion with $4 trillion revenues.

It doesn't mean if you work for a salary of $100 000 per annum you cannot qualify for a loan of $300-400 000 paid back in 5 to 6 years.
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by mzilakazi(m): 12:34pm On Jul 12, 2015
USA with total population of 318 million makes revenues of $4 trillion.

Nigeria with 180 million people makes revenues of $30 billion. Shame.

GDP is a ghost money. It is just estimation of one countries potential in economic terms. Revenues are more important because it is guaranteed money in hard cash that one government has and not a ghost money.

It doesn't matter since perhaps their revenues should have grown exponentially.

so you are saying if a country has a high revenue it can't get broke and will still be able to borrow.. irrespective of its debt ?

My dear.

You can work for company A with a total worth of $500 billion and still earn $ 50 000 per annum, qualify for a small loan. (Nigeria)

I can still work for company B with a total worth of $300 billion and still earn $ 100 000 per annum, qualify for a much bigger loan than yours. (South Africa)

Talking about bankruptcy is something else. My focus was on " the bigger the money the bigger the debt you qualify for"

okay so you are saying the MAJOR Factor is REVENUE.. but I think a country's external debt also has a role here...,

Greece - revenue is $90billion. while
South Africa - revenue is $ 95 billion...
Nigeria - revenue is $30 billion,

but Greece the bigger their revenue but they don't qualify for any debt, their credit standing is (negative) while south Africa and Nigeria is (stable)...,

According to your example -- Greece is earning more than Nigeria but they don't qualify for any loan...

The fact is for as long as you maintain your debts well and pay them according to schedule in order to get a positive debt rating there is no problem there.

The problem thrive only when you earn too little to keep up with a positive debt rating.

SA revenues are $120 billion if were to include business.

Now you are talking about maintaining debts... I just had to use that illustration to let you know that its not all about revenue which you kept emphasizing on.....APART FROM REVENUE WHATEVER YOU OWE EXTERNALLY IS A MAJOR factor(Greece)...,

I hope you can answer my 2 questions now....,

'cos I know of countries that earn too little and still have a positive debt rating.....

The fact is in Nigeria MTN is expensive and they have strong competitors who offers double of what they offer..

DSTV and SHOPRITE may still have a little bit of monopoly, but for Mtn its war for them especially with etisalat and Glo...

the competition is so tough that etisalat & glo gives people free sim which mtn is still selling for #200...

OUR EXTERNAL DEBT WOULD HAVE ONLY BEEN MAJOR IF WE WOULD HAVE BEEN GETTING WHAT NIGERIA GETS.

MY DEAR YOU CANNOT COMPARE YOUR DEBTS WITH THOSE OF PEOPLE WHO ARE PAID MORE THAN YOU. PEOPLE WHO EARN FORTUNE WILL ALWAYS GET A BETTER CAR, HOUSE AND EVEN EAT BETTER FOOD THAN YOU.

55 million for the records.

And these 55 million are indifferent to S.A , they aren't bothered whatsoever.

But Leslie knows Zulus are hiding behind a facade. I lead the efforts of sending all S.A firms out of Nigeria. I mean no harm, but I figure if this Anglo Dutch companies are sent away, Zulus back home will learn to look after themselves like real people do. grin grin

You are a xenophobic dingbat and an uncouth douchebag with an IQ of a house fly to doubt the brain power of your very mentor.
