[b]Scentmarlc...how can your organising team get every active member from each section when majority,,if not all are made up of active romance section members?

Going to other sections to select nominees from there may be a little bit myopic as they don't frequent there well enough to know the "who is who" in that section.

If you want to make this Award look realistic and impartial,,allow the section members to Nominate who they want or let each section have a representative in your organising group.

One person cannot enter another section he/she hardly looks at their home topic and select anybody there.

This is just to avoid shady selections as your organiser's selection may not be the same thing the members of that section want.

Nairaland is too big for you to recognise every member that contributes positively. Especially in the politics,,literature and romance section.

Please take my suggestion seriously if you want the NL populace to accept this Award.

Please kindly press it upon your Mod friends to move this thread to romance ooo. I dont why the hating is this much. If Mr Nairaland, a paegent for all eligible male nairalanders and Miss Nairaland for elegible female nairalanders could be hosted, start to finish in romance section.................honestly i refuse to see reason why rockstation ishilove and farano would be so sentimental to lock this thread out of romance section. By all statutes, its a social event just like Mr n Miss Nairaland, Couples contest, Sunday. Interviews. If you ask me whats romantic about this event , then i might be forced ask what was romantin about the aforementioned events too with an exception to the couples thingy.


Once again, am appealing publicly having done so privately to rockstation, ishilove , farano and lalasticlala to please move this thread to romance section. If not for anything but the traffic its gona generate. We need pple to be aware and carried along.

That could have been an avenue to garner their support.

I understand that Romance Section is the centre of all inter-personal interactions, hence the need for its audience, but then again, this is a General thing....going by the heading of the thread.

Perhaps they are preventing a situation whereby folks would begin to cry blue murder tomorrow that it's always about romance section.

What I think you and your team should be doing is to create awareness.
You should divide yourselves into groups and storm different sections, share the link of this thread, get to interact with major stakeholders in each section, either through PM or openly (you would need their support too, so you won't be banned for derailing).

You need a banner too, one that conveys the weight of the exercise you've embarked on.

Appealing on your behalf would seem like usurping authority.
I think all that's needed here is needed here is a line of communication between you and one of the supermods (Ishilove preferably, because she seems to handle the bulk of ensuring discipline and attending to user complaints, if she's sold in on the idea, she can convince her colleagues too).

Your write up gives the impression you are angry, I think I can relate, but you need to calm down and make your case in all gentleness.
Remember they're just doing their jobs.
