And @ Gazzuzz, someone is hurting here cos of the way he feels you treated him, and he is not confrontational about it
There is no need to tell him to open a thread....I dont think that is his point
How about you just extend an e-handshake to him?
He will be appeased, you would have made him happy, you would even increase the evident goodwill you have here...and it will cost you nothing.....will not make you any less of who you are....infact it will elevate your standing...and you will be sure his car is landing at your doorstep next time...one day he may even bring his Porsche plus the Toyota to you!

Okay...I will shut up now
But the Golden Rule is really golden

Spot on.

Feel obligated to contribute to this thread having experienced Gazzuzz first hand and been in a VERY SIMILAR situation as the complainant.

Facts:

1. I was one of the first people to encourage Gazzuzz to come set up shop in Lagos, promising my patronage. (previous posts will confirm)
2. Gazzuzz started rendering free advice and services while still based in the North, hence my encouraging his relocation down here.
3. I trust his competence 100%
4. I began giving him jobs as soon as he relocated (before getting his workshop, he used to fix my car in his house)

Experience:

Satisfactory. The very first time he came and picked my car overnight, my family was afraid because I had lost my very first car to a mechanic before (kidnapped the vehicle and cannibalized all the new parts I had just bought)

Relating to Complainant's Matter:

Gazzuzz gave me a quote for parts and I agreed. On my way to the bank to pay, my driver who is a former mechanic offered to get a cheaper quote at same quality. Because I was tight on cash I agreed and informed Gazzuzz that I would only need him to supply half of the parts initially agreed while still carrying out full repairs. Mr. Gazzuzz immediately refused such an arrangement and told me I'd have to buy all the parts if that were the case. I felt momentarily "funny", but didn't argue, took the risk and went ahead with my plans. He continued to liaise with me, and on delivering the parts, rejected some as sub-standard (without sounding condescending, i.e. shebi you wan buy by yourself, you don see am na. [not to say he might not have thought these thoughts or said these words behind my back, but still, very professionally handled with me]) He gave further advice on what I needed, and accepted delivery hours later which he agreed were fine (not as good as he would have gotten, but acceptable).. My car's performance has gone back to optimum, and egos have been managed effectively.

Will I be using him again? Absolutely. Will he buy parts for me next time? As long as I am buoyant enough to afford his slightly higher quotes, it is worth the money. I respect his expertise and appreciate my relationship with him which is slowly transcending business alone. His customer service is top notch, and he's been to my Banana I house countless times and even dropped me off when without one of my numerous machines a car.

HOWEVER, complainant has an EXTREMELY VALID grouse if he feels poorly treated. He may open another thread if he wants Gazzuzz to address this. I do not subscribe to blind support of important personalities while shutting down less-prominent people without properly listening and fully understanding situations (impossible when you weren't present and have no background to work with), because misunderstandings are exactly what they are, "MISUNDERSTANDINGS", i.e. nobody is completely right or wrong, it is all about individual perspectives borne out of individual experiences.

We can all learn from other people's tales. Salute.

@coldplay007 I actually wouldn't recommend Gazzuzz to anybody, dude is quite petty. I had contacted him about my car, drove all the way from Surulere to Ogba on Saturday, he told me my engine would need to be replaced I heeded his counsel asked him to get me costing. On getting to His place today with plans of dropping off my car to return tomorrow for us to go get an Engine, dude started catching feelings, telling me "I should go look for a roadside mechanic who I will follow to the market to buy parts" for crying out loud we are talking of Engine replacement why shouldn't I be involved in the procurement process, even if I'm coming as a silent observer. Gazzuzz bluntly told me I should go back with my vehicle, just because I asked to go pick up my Engine with him. Saying I was disappointed is a huge understatement. Nonetheless I'm glad it happened at this point, not when I have invested my scarce resources and he starts to bring up shitty attitude. Same way I trusted my car to Qualityovenbake on Nairaland and he did a messed up job, coupled with the fact that he was way behind schedule.
if its true what you said about @gazzuzz then he aint serious and is bound to self destruct, my brother NEVER let anyone buy car parts from you especially your car engine even if the person na mechanic wey dey feel like superstar. If gazzuzz doesnt want you to follow him to get ue engine then he is up to no good!!!! my two cents!!!! nonsense!

I believe there are 2 sides to this

1) go to the market yourself without the help of gazzuzz and buy the engine yourself since you wanna be involved

2 ) Gazzuzz helps with the buying of the engine and he fully takes responsible for whatever happens since he is buying with all the experience he has on the field

As for number 1 would you want a situation where you go a bad engine believing its ok only for it to be installed and it happens to be a bad one. If the later comes into play are you gonna pay for a second installment if you are billed cos we talkn about man power here and technicality

Or better still, Rebadu (abi Ribadu), you learn Mechanic work. cheesy

It's, meanwhile, advisable to know a few things about the mechanism of the car you drive. Some people, when their cars stop on the road, even without checking to see if it's fuel or battery, they'll start calling for Mechanics. These mechanics are very smart, when they notice that you have no clue about anything, they'd sell Pomo to you in the name of Turkey. And you'd buy. It's always nice to have some idea; no matter how little.

I hate confirming what you just said
In the UK..the customer is a god...be you a ten Pounds owner, or a thousand Pounds owner
You will get a royal treatment
Even if you walked into a service shop, or a sales shop...you would get a test run...and this is regardless of whether you finally patronise them, or not

Sadly, this attitude is seriously lacking in Nigeria
You may be left standing or even insulted with your paltry money because someone with better money comes around
And they expect you to lick unmentionable places just because they want to do a job for you, a job you will pay for !!! shocked
Very bad, very sad

What are you saying , so he should either go and buy parts alone without Gazzuz and be sold fake or substandard parts or he gives Gazzuz money to buy the parts for him without him being there ? Won't Gazzuz collect money for the labour or will should he let Gazzuz further dupe him by adding additional cost to the parts he's buying. If Gazzuz is serious about working with him let them both go to buy the parts and fix it afterwards. What is the difference between Gazzuz and any other roadside mechanic with this stunt he's trying to pull

Bros, name a professional that allows his clients to go with him to get materials. Lets say u are having a wedding and give a contract to a wedding planner, do u also go with him/her to get materials? u can as well do the decoration and planning urself. When u are upcoming u accept every shyte because u are looking for clients, but once u become a professional, then u have to be professional in the way u deal with clients.

Look, I know this is not my business, but to be successful with whatever u do depends on the way u package urself. I don't know gazzuzz and I'm not here to take sides. Aim big and u become big, aim small u remain small. I still repeat, no professional will ask his client to follow him to get parts. It means u don't trust him and u can go ahead take ur job somewhere else. If u take ur car to honda place or elizade or automaze and they give u a quotation, would u follow them to get the parts? Definitely NO.

I drive toyota avensis 2007.

And my mechanic is making life a living hell for me, when the car has issue, most times i cannot be repaired once, he will repair the first, bring it and the same thing will happen and he will do it again, sometimes it takes up to 3 to 4 times to get one issue resolved.

The one that happen now is so annoying, last week the car accelerator at some point will not move fast even if you press with all your power and finally it will stop. and then i will start it again.

My Mechanic came to pick it up, fix it and bring it for me on Sunday and on Monday the same thing happen.

Will i ever be able to get a good mechanic to help me out on a low budget. i am so tired, im even crying
