This has to be the video of the year for 2015. Cool intro from Phyno, that Hausa rapper blazed it, hope to see more of him soon. Uzi was also fantastic, now looks so much like his brother now that he has cut his hair. I was expecting another banger from him after 'Osiso' but he just fizzled. Hope this track launches his comeback.

I am a big big fan of VEC, He's a good rapper. But Olamide and Ice Prince will always be up there because VEC is not consistent. He release one good song and go to sleep, you don't hear from him again for a long.

If he can be consistent, he'll be the best and most popular in Nigeria

The song is DOPE but the video got lots of issues with the effects, as a cinematography student that video is well below the song... watch wella and you see alot of lapses

Yeah right! The King-Kong eyes wasnt well tracked on Uzzi's Eyes. Plus, the Lip-Sync was not perfectly done. Classiq's mouth moves faster the Song.

The UK has a watered-down version of rap like what Nigerian artists are doing, and we call it "grime". A different genre entirely. I believe that's what these naij artists should start doing cos they can't rap. These mofos can't rap for shiit - even Milli Vanilli will run circles around their squares.

Anyway, this is the remix of Wizkid's "Ojuelegba" ft Drake and Skepta (British grime artist of naij descent and the biggest independent artist in the UK). Skepta's style on the tune is called "grime" but that's the slow version of it - we have the fast and aggressive version.

Is "kano" a grime artiste?I like his song "brown eyes".I also know "the streets" and a grime collective a few years ago with a song called "21 seconds to go" or is it "6 seconds to go?".I will be glad if you don't mind listing your favorite grime artistes and songs.I will like to know more about the genre or is it sub-genre?

The only nigerian rapper I like is Mode 9.The rest are just noise makers spreading headache to their listeners.Funnily enough I listened to "cry" earlier today after a long time.Whenever I listen to any phyno and olamide song I'm always like "so people really like this sh....?"

even Modenine walks between a thin line of wack &average . He can barely maintain a two-syllabic rhyme scheme throughout a 16.

Boogey is the only one worth listening to nowadays. His delivery's on point, he's got bars & he's very technical ✘

listened and definately not the song of the year. whats the essence of rap when u cant even hear what dem folks are spitting? Even as fast as crazy bone is, i can still hear what he spits.
Ever wondered why the best rappers in the world are not fast spitters... even eminem as fast as he is most times reduces his tempo to pass his message.
The only dude who killed d track was vector cos i heard every word. this young rappers should go listen to rakim, ice cube and nas make dem know wetin rap is all about.
Finally, song is too noisy.

Yes, Kano is a grime artist, and "Brown eyes" is grime on rap/r&b beat. Grime has it own unique beat pattern as well - but it's quintessentially a UK thing.

21 seconds by So Solid Crew is garage - a different genre completely from grime, but it fathered grime, with 4x4. Almost the same pattern, but grime is more aggressive with different layers in the rhyme pattern and the beats. Also, garage has a lot of dubstep which you won't find in grime.

Check out Stormzy, Skepta, Kano is still doing his thing, JME (Skepta's younger brother), Tinie Tempah (used to do grime as well), Chipmunk, Bugzy Malone from Manchester is killing it now as well, Ghettz, Newham General, etc., just to name a few.

5) Reminisce: Baba Hafusa was my least interesting act on this beat. I just feel like Olamide would've murdered this song more than he did. He was just okay, he went as hard as he has in recent times, but still, he fell short just a little compared to the other guys.

Are you kidding me? His side is my favorite.

Alaga murdered this song! Closely followed by Vector himself, then Classiq.

This is just my personal opinion. Vector's King Kong remix featuring Phyno, Reminisce, Classiq and Uzi has to be the d-opest rap song in Naija (ever?)

The visuals were crayyy! Butterfield beyond the video, the contribution of every artiste on that track was just out of this world....they all came correct. I haven't seen artistes go as hard as those guys did on a collaboration. Like they all wanted to prove something, and boyyy did they prove it! (maybe they were tryna outdo Sarkodie's remix? grin).

I had some favourites, so i'll break them down from my best down to the least IMO....they all did good, but some were amazing.

1) Uzikwendu(Uzi): the lil bro of Killz did not disappoint his big bro. This dude was just FIRE on the track. Like, where the hell has he been? We've got Twista here and we've been rockin' to a bunch of 2Chainz niggas? I loved EVERYTHING about this dude's lines. The rhthm, the speed, everything was just....DAMN! I have to see him again.

2) Classiq: first off, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Vector for finally getting a REAL A-boky on a track, Ann boy did this dude represent! On a track with fairly established guys, these new bloods definitely took the spotlight. Classiq was just waoh! Rapping in Hausa, he delivered the language of the North so beautifully, one is tempted to sign up for an Hausa class. Thank you Nasarawa for giving us Classiq

3) Phyno: As usual, Mr. Obago delivered his punchlines with enough infusion of Igbo so you make no mistakes where he's repping, but at this point, we should all know how Phyno does it....I particularly liked his line "Real recognises real, ma nigga so why don't you look familiar?".

4) Vector: As much as Vector owned the original of this song, he had to tone it down for the other guys, but he still brought his heat. Would've preferred if he opened the music, but he was still pretty awesome on it, I liked his Johnny line

5) Reminisce: Baba Hafusa was my least interesting act on this beat. I just feel like Olamide would've murdered this song more than he did. He was just okay, he went as hard as he has in recent times, but still, he fell short just a little compared to the other guys.

Totally, Uzi and Classiq were the stars of this song and MattMax definitely did some magic with the visuals....even though there is a resemblance to Jay-Z's "On to the next one". Certain scenes stood out for me. The illuminati-ish scene with Uzi as well as the Horse rider scene with Classiq.

Here is the video, what do you think of the song?

Do u knw y nigerians always do well it's because we r d greatest critic. We r tlking rap som1 is saying chop my money, olufummi rmx. Etc... R those songz rap music, I agree with the op that's d best rap song this year
Africa rmx is a copied beat from touch it, by busta rhymes dats doctor dre beat they didn't even change anytin
local rapper is a mad jam but it's d beat u r enjoying not d delivery of rap flows.
King kong production out of this world, the delivery of each rapper was outstanding even though I was nt happy with reminscence on the track but he picked up during the last part. Olamide would hv bin a better choice.
The best rap song of all time ghost mode, 123-dagrin,MI,nateo c. Pheroshuz ft terry da rapman sample rmx,

In rap, the verses have to be 16 bars, with three verses in all - while the chorus should be 8 bars. That's the standard. The exception most time is when you're doing a remix, or you just basically want to step out of the box, for a minute.

And when you write rap verses, it isn't a necessity that all the last words of consecutive bars must rhyme. You can link one bar to the other with similes and metaphors, while telling a story.
