logica: Thank you, my brother!!! Agba oni ton ni 'le yin. In addition to the bolded above, out of 21 ministerial post, the northerners (NPC) took 10 juicy posts leaving 11 for the south. The ibos (NCNC) been the greedy souls they are, took 10 leaving 1- minister of Labour for the yorubas. This was all alluded to by Akintola in his 1965 campaign speech. The video too is on Youtube.Yorubas now could clearly discern why the ibos were all for One Nigeria where they hope to dominate their so-called fellow countrymen. This was why Akintola too had to die at the hands of the jan 15th coupists just as the sardunna was earmarked to die for protecting the interest of his people in this unholy union. 14 Likes 2 Shares |

T8ksy:There has been a wrong use of terms which I believe started with the Sardauna (Ahmadu Bello). When you speak of "dominate", what comes to mind is like the Barcelona FC team of present. They dominate. And why do they dominate? Because they are head and shoulders above all other teams. On the other hand, what the Igbo as a group tended to do is called amassing. Like a crowd of piranha on a hapless goat. Everyone knew they (the Igbos) had most to gain from the Nigerian contraption. For instance, Yorubas and Hausa/Fulani had been interacting way back since the 15th Century. The Igbos had been isolated for so long till the Oyinbos came along to build bridges connecting them to the South West and North. So they suddenly developed a wanderlust and wanted to spread across the country. Meanwhile Yorubas and Hausas who had wanderlust were already old, tired or dead so not many were engaging in such travel. But it was the behavior of the surjourners in their various host lands that was ultimately their undoing. 10 Likes |

My best friend is Yoruba. His family and my fam are family. Hate and tribalism is bred through miscommunication, poverty, and shady political leaders. We're all too black, too blessed, and too strong. Let's grow. 5 Likes |

Stolen:OK like u said we can not leave together, I am igboman , if u say we can not live together, let the two tribes maintain peace. our people said for one to wash his two hands clean, left hand must wash right hand and vise vasa. let peace reign. nature has placed us in southern region of the country, we should bury our differences and forge ahead. the war was between east and north though the roles west played cannot be forgotten easily but we will not be like this forever. now even if we go our separate ways, won't we have ambassadors to odua republic or what ever name our Western brothers choose to bear. won't we have bilateral agreements? let peace reign . Okey now we have interethnic marriages going on between us on daily basis is it not enough reason for us to leave in peace? let us maintain peace . 3 Likes |

lastpage: until yorubas apologise for all igbo treasury they looted after the civil war,, don't forget igbos were giving £20 only no matter how many millions an igbo may have banked in Nigerian bank provided it bears an igbo name.Secondly the idea of food blockade and indiginization policy instigated by Awolowo is another food for thought,, yorubas should put pride aside and apologise to igbos on all these issues. last I checked Fashola deported igbos from lagos,Oba Akiolu treating to dump them in the lagoon,so where are your love??.until the sovereignty of the disposes people are addressed there will never be peace. 4 Likes 1 Share |

EggovinMma: Is that the genesis of the PROBLEM..... or just the AFTER-EFFECTS? How come none of the Igbos want to talk about what the Aguiyi Ironsi and his Igbo Soldiers, did to the Northern Political and MIlitary Elite, FIRST? If you can address issues honestly, how will you be able to "solve and reconcile" them? This topic is not about re-instating Biafra! There are too many topics on that already. We are trying to "HONESTLY" look at working at what went wrong and "solutions" ..And no one gives anyone secession, it is TAKEN!. You can take it (if that is what you really want) but you have to be up to it! Lastpage! 9 Likes |

The only thing Igbo and Yoruba had for any form of settlement is a distinct homeland for each group. Yoruba should occupy a different country as Igbo. 1 Like |

You opening article is full of conjectures, lies and half truths, that had all been exposed and thoroughly trashed out here on NL time and time again. It is safe to say that Yorubas have reached a point of no return in the lies and false propaganda against Ndiigbo, if after thorough debunking, you still stick to your half baked lies and half truths. I mean, what's the point of this thread? To start going back and front on issues already discussed in the past? That will be a waste of time. In summary, your thread belongs to nowhere but trash bin. Such a waste of internet space. 9 Likes |

logica: Hmmm.... reality can be very daunting at times! Can any Igbo comment on this fact of history? Is this right? Should it be so? Is it a "one-off" thingy or a general trait? Was this kind of behaviour, which l referred to in my original post as "Aggressiveness", what the hausas also detest back then, before Auiyi Ironsi took on himself to purge them of their political and military elites, by killing all of them? Has that attitude changed, as of today in 2015 These are just questions l want us to address, as part of the "honest truth and reconciliation" we seek. Lastpage! 3 Likes |

lastpage: After the retaliation, why can't the igbos be allowed to rule themselves as they so wished? The igbo man started the coup but it never ended with the igbo man you know. I am up for peace and reconciliation. But if the people wants peaceful secession as a country , it should be given to them.If after all said and don in the 1960's and the igbos want to leave peacefully as non nigerians, with their neighbours, a referendum should be called. Reconciliation is beautiful as it removes the bad blood between igbos and yorubas, as truth is, we are so immersed than other tribes. But this reconciliation should also give the igbos the opportunity to have a referendum for self determination. 6 Likes |

babyfaceafrica: How come the Original thread, by an Igbo person (Ngenekwenu) graced the Frontpage, immediately it was created? Did that stop the tribal bigots from posting on that thread? And you use of the phrase "NEVER" seems strange. I think there is this particular Igbo Mod in this Politics section that is responsible for stoking most of the Bigotry. As a Mod, when you see it coming, you stamp it out and immediately issue a warning, whether it is by a Yoruba or Igbo but she will let it fly if it is started by an Igbo but once a Yoruba responds, she will ban that Yoruba poster and erase their post! That is very childish and silly IMO, but the blame lies with Seun who cannot properly vet and at times double-check his Mods! Anyway, that is just by the way. Back to the topic and thanks for your response. Lastpage! 1 Like |

Classicool: Dont kill me with laughter! I have lived long enough to know when someone is faking it. Granted, you are ALMOST one of us probably by the fact that you have lived with us long enough or you might even be born in the South West! I have a few Igbo friends like that who, apart from there Igbo-name, the way they destroy Amala or speak Yoruba will make you argue, if l tell you they are of Igbo stock! But nothing wrong in that,, what is wrong is to hide behind it and misrepresent a Yoruba ideology! Thats not cool Bro! We are trying to resolve issues here, not adversaries, so we need to be honest about it Thanks all the same for your own opinion on the matter. Lastpage! |

Nnaabros: We also admire your zest for trading and commerce. The challenge is how we can all maximize our good potentials while recognizing our weaknesses so that we can synergize and complement each other, without any form of unhealthy competition. It will be a repetition and of no value, if we are all alike.... .....yet it will be an "economic waste", if we cant maximize the potentials inherent in our differences. Cheers Bro. Lastpage! |

Some of the people running their mouths here could be spotted in the picture below. These are the people that opened a thread mocking Igbos during the post election violence that they deserved the lynching. The same people will be hailing Fashola for deporting the less privilege from Lagos. They said Lagos is for Yorubas but oil in Niger Delta is for all Nigeria. Whenever there is riot in North they open threads counting the number of Igbos that died. Their US based doctor even called for genocide against Igbos and he was regarded as poster child of the new Yoruba ideology. *spits on you lots 5 Likes |
