When you create a thread with such heading, especially on a section like this, you are indirectly inviting those who have beefs with each other and those who crave and promote e-fights to take part the show.

The op stated that it was a thread foe genders to face off against each other, but he didn't present it as a debate or dialogue. There was no issue or topic of focus.
So what exactly was the essence of the thread?

All that thread needed was for someone to mention one or two members of the opposite sex who he/she has some tussle with and the thread would erupt into an E- wrestling ground.
