queenkaf: It sounds like you chose the Isolo option when you made your appointment? As the collection letter states, "K1/K3 visas can usually be collected ten business days following the interview at one of the following locations, according to the one that you pre-selected at the time of scheduling your appointment." Unfortunately it is officially too late in the day for me to be able to check on this, and I'll be out of the office for most of next week as I prepare to depart Nigeria. The best way to get an answer is to e-mail LagosIV@state.gov, but we will receive a great many inquiries over the four-day weekend, so it may take a bit longer to get a response. You can also call the collection centers at 094601748 or e-mail them at support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com . |

Joboms: Until your case is sent to us here in Lagos, I have no way of answering questions about its status. Please direct your questions to NVC. Thanks! |

VisaOfficer: I just realized that this piece of news may have been somewhat startling. I mentioned a while back that my tour is drawing to an end but that was several pages ago, so it's probably a good time to explain. After three wonderful years here, it will soon be time for me to sadly move on to my next tour, a couple weeks from now. But I'll stay on Nairaland until my successor has arrived and settled in. This does mean that I won't be able to log on every day, and that questions about specific cases will all be directed to LagosIV@state.gov because I'll have no way of looking into them -- but I'll be glad to keep answering inquiries that don't require me to be physically present. Let's continue the thread as usual for now (except that my attendance will become somewhat intermittent) and I will say a proper goodbye to everyone when it's actually time to say goodbye. In the meantime, back to work, everybody! All will be well. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

papaking1: Ah -- if the petition was filed in 2010, the case is still at NVC. It may take a while for NVC to respond to you, but they're the ones to communicate with. Otherwise, once the case is sent here to post a few years from now, at that point you can remind us that your father is a U.S. citizen and that you're married. If your father was an LPR when he filed for you, your category would have been F2B, and right now F2Bs filed on or before Sept. 15, 2008, are eligible to be scheduled for interviews. If your father was already a citizen when he filed the petition, the category before you were married would have been F1, and right now F1s filed on or before Sept. 1, 2007, are eligible to be scheduled for interviews. So either way there's still a good while to wait before NVC will think there's a reason to schedule the case for an interview. When your category changes to F3 (married child of a U.S. citizen), your waiting time will also change. Right now F3s filed on or before Feb. 22, 2004, are eligible to be scheduled for interviews. 1 Like |

VisaOfficer: Hello V.O, You haven't assisted me on this Forum before concerning Immigration Procedures as there hasn't been the need to. But I do have one thing to say and I don't mean to be sycophantic. YOU ARE A FISH ON LAND - a rare breed - As you prepare to depart our country, please remember this, You will always be favoured. I thought of what Nairalanders could do to suprise you but I don't know or what to. I also don't know if you believe in God. But there are some predefined laws of the universe, one of them being as you do unto others, so you will receive. You've seeds of happiness and Joy in so many people''s hearts. In the same vain, when time comes and it seems a's though things are getting tough, there you will find favour, kindness, love and then you will remember that the hearts of the many people you have touched are always with you. We love you. And when you leave, don't forget us in a hurry. 9 Likes |

Hi visa officer, so I tried to interview yesterday but received a 221(g) because my international passport doesn't have that shiny seal on the biodata page. That was a printing error i guess from the passport office. I have called them and I was asked to bring my passport on Tuesday, probably to get that seal on it. My question is since my 221(g) form stated that I should bring a new passport, will it be okay if I present the one I have now after its being rectified or i just have to get a new one? |

MrNesta: Oh, yes, I saw your passport -- it drew quite a bit of attention here. If the passport office can fix it, it's fine to bring it back to us. If not, though, you'll need a new one. |

Hello VO, My F2B case is presently being processed at NVC with my father being the sponsor. My joint sponsors are my brother and sister. However, my brother lives in a different state from my father and sister. Is it appropriate for my brother who doesn't live in the same house with my dad to still fill the Form I-864A? Thanks. |
