So slavery is actively practised in some regions, to the point that they actually recognise slave uniforms and treat the affected ones as untouchables? A lot of things are really happening. |

Tinyemeka: Kuwait still treat some of their own citizens as second class people. The govt of Kuwait don't allow them to school, medical treatment, they can't own bank account and many more. The Kuwaiti government don't issue them passport rather they are given civic identity. Most of this people are black skinned people and some other migrants. Kuwait is a very useless country. If their woman married a man from another country and they bear children, the children are never recognised as Kuwaiti citizens. |

ochardbaby: You are the only one who has applied some sense. Seems the lady who expected a lucrative job abroad was shipped to be house help to a Kuwaiti family. Like any agent, these men would have collected their commission. She would have been unaware of what her job was and would have been shattered to be with Arabs who are notorious for maltreating their domestic helps. Little or no sleep, lack of basic necessities, no social life, 18-22 hours of strenous work coupled with extreme physical assault for the slightest mistakes are all part and parcel of these kind of jobs. There are quite a lot of Filipinos and South East Asian women who endure all these work as househelps in Arab countries. The slave uniform she is talking here seems to be the full sleeved long gowns and the head scarves they are given once they start work. That outfit, when worn by any foreigner is a tell tale evidence of being a house help as any other job may not demand you to cover up from head to toe like a national or a Muslim woman if you aren't one. Our lady, who was pushed into this profession unexpectedly would have vowed to get back at the men and that could be reason behind this slavery story. 2 Likes |

ochardbaby: Its AMAZING when people speak out of sheer IGNORANCE. What do you know about Kuwait and Abu Dhabi? If you are not aware please read the article that the BBC wrote about slavery in Dubai. Slavery is very real in the Middle East, the only problem is that nobody talks about it. Everything that happened to this unfortunate lady is true and should serve as a warning to others. PLEASE DO NOT FALL for the work in Dubai or Kuwait scam. It is slavery plain and simple! 2 Likes |

Why would Kuwait need to have slaves. A country so rich they don't even know what to do with the money. |
Re: Nigerian Woman Sold Into Slavery In Kuwait by Roseey0(f): 8:38am On Jul 17, 2015 |
Men fall for this scam more than ladies. I hope people become wiser. There are no jobs abroad except slavery. I rather earn little here and maintain my average life here than become somebody's slave abroad just to form 'janded' what for? |

Even in Saudi, slavery officialy ended in the 60s, only after pressure from USA, because it was becoming an embarrassment. What you cannot get from europe, do not run to middle-east to look for it. |
