The Transmission Company of Nigeria has recorded a new all time high in electricity generation after the country attained 4,656 megawatts (mw) on Wednesday this week, breaking the recent all time high record of 4,545mw attained a few days ago.

The TCN, in a statement released yesterday by the general manager, Public Affairs, Seun Olagunju, noted that the new peak was attained at 10pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 and that all generated power has been successfully wheeled by the national grid network.

The electricity transmission company had announced a few days ago that the nation hit a 4,545mw-peak transmission in the national grid on Monday, July 13, 2015, with the previous record peak power transmission of 4,517mw attained on December 23, 2012.

“Power generation and transmission have been above 4,000mw following improvements in gas supply to the generating stations as well as equipment and infrastructure upgrade and enhanced human capacity of system operators,” the company said.

It further assured that it would continue to work at enhancing the capacity to transmit more quality power to the distribution companies.

A lot, however, still needs to be done to meet the electricity demands of the nation, which experts estimate to be around 200,000MW.

Mumuni entered a mosque carrying a brand new cutlass and asked: "who is a Muslim here?"
The whole mosque went as silent as a grave yard.
Mumuni asked again "how can a full mosque have no Muslim?".
No one replied.
Mumuni then grabbed the nearby young man and went out with him and told him "son come help me kill my goat because i don't know how to do it".
After the young man had killed the goat, he told Mumuni that he didn't know how to skin it and that Mumuni should go back to the mosque and get someone else to help him do that.
Mumuni returned to the mosque with the cutlass dripping with blood.
When the IMAM saw the same man again in the mosque with blood dripping from his cutlass, he immediately shouted
"MY BROTHERS IN CHRIST, PRAISE THE LOOORD OOOOO!"

When it was said that gas supply network under GEJ was work in progress, they said it was for campaigns

When the power plants were being commissioned by GEJ, They said he was playing to the gallery

Today, there is improvement in power supply and yet they say its a one month old government without power minister and without direction that is responsible.

Not forgetting the role of increased water levels in our dams.

But nothing to gloat over yet cos if Buhari does not set the direction for the power sector quickly, even the GEJ benefits in this same sector will be lost in no time.

Power sector investors are waiting for the government's plan.... but they can't wait forever.

Illiteracy is worse than corruption.
Nigerians dont care about the process of getting results, they are only impatiently interested in the results and that is why they are most gullible
