How Is The Church Feeding Their Flock Today? by TheMadame(f): 9:33pm On Jul 11, 2015
I am so interested in the gospel according to John chater 21 verses 15-17.

15. When they finished eating,Jesus said to Simon Peter,"Simon, son of John,do you love me more than these?"
"Yes,Lord," he said," you know that I love you"
Jesus said,"Feed my lambs."

16. Again Jesus said,"Simon son of John,do you love me?"

He answered,"Yes,Lord, you know that I love you"
Jesus said,"Take care of my sheep"
17. The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John,do you love me?"
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him a third time,"Do you love me?" He said,"Lord, you know all these things, you know that I love you."
Jesus said,"Feed my sheep"

The question in todays world,is can the men of God be said to be feeding Gods sheep?
When they build schools and their members can not afford to pay the school fees to allow their children attend such schools?
or
When the man of God extorts the tithe and offerings from the poverty striken members of the church in order to buy a private jet and live a rock star life style including body gaurds in Ray Ban dark glasses.
My question is, does this behaviour of certain pastors and churches reflect taking care of and feeding the Lords sheep or flock?
Please contribute.

Pastors don't extort money from members. Members only assess divine blessing from God through Tithes and Offerings. People are never under compulsion, they have choices.

TheMadame,
You don come with your controversial topics again. Naa you make them ban me for Autos section as I dey follow you like mumu.
Any way I can't understand hoe a church or Religious organisation that claims to follow the Bible which is the grand norm will useits poor members contribution from tithes and offerings to build a University or higher institution and children of its poor members can notattend such schools.

I agree they are not under compulsion to contribute offerings or tithe but they do make these contributions to the Church.
My question still remains that poor members of churches like Convenant or Redeemed churches can not afford the astronomical school fees in these institutions,
so how has the church helped to feed their flock in conjunction with the instructions of our Lord Jesus?

On judgement day many people will be astinished at what they will see, many of this so called pastors will be candidates of hell just becouse of their works ( lack of love ) which is the basis of the gospel of christ.Bottom line is that many of these people you see today flying private jets and building schools that their members wards cannot afford to go to will all be dissapointed on the judgement day becouse they have refused to take care of the poor and needy instead they are busy taking care of their private jet/pockets.

99% of churches today are operating as businesses. They have no space for the poor. Most of them have special pews for their rich members to the detriment of the poor members.
They are not good shepherds taking care of the sheep. Simple.

A good sheperd should take care of his sheep. Are the modern day pastors and men of God doing this? And I mean both Christian and Muslim leaders.

There is a story of a pastor Chris Okafor who donated 500 thousand Naira to a boy who needed an operation. Surely that qualifies as feeding the flock. Not all men of God are bad.

ahh bros calm down.
God blesses you whether you give or not.
God does not need your Money before he blesses you.
Did you read that the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof.
Our giving is an act of service and committment to the Our churches and God,not as a means of accessing divine blessings.

God sends his rain both on the Just and the Unjust,he makes his Sun to rise on the evil and the Godd.

How?
The man donated the
money
. Has he not tried to feed the flock? Lots of men of God do a lot of charity works towards the needy and in our prisons and motherless babies homes but never publicise it.
Once again not all men of God are money grabbers as being stereotyped in the OP.

Did the pastor donate his personal money or did he donate money from church collections? There is a huge difference btw the two even though in most churches today church money is treated as pastor's money.

Does it really matter whose money it is?
At least the flock is being fed.

Biblically it was wrong for the pastor to make public the donation in the first instance

If he did not make it public,it is people like you and the OP that will be shouting that Pastors are not feeding their flock.

While the action of Pastor Okafor is commendable it is a drop of water in a mighty ocean?

My question again is-
1. Is it right for the Pastor/church to collect tithes and offerings from the congregation, then use these monies to build private schools/universities,which are then priced out of the reach of the poor members of the congregation, such that their children can not attend these schools?

For one, your churches have nothing to do with God or that which He commands. God didn't send anyone to build churches, schools, etc., in His Name, nor did He ask anyone to collect offerings and money from those who are his sheep in the first place. So, what you see portrayed by men is simply the will of men and not of God. undecided
