Complete and utter thrash...especially for engineering. Out of 1500 students who have graduated from the college of engineering in my school, not more than 20 have gotten a first class. I don't blame u sha, UI and unilag have made engineering look easy. The stress alone of engineering in my school can make one wonder if he/she is doing a master's program

Elect/Elect Engr is relatively easy to bag a First Class depending on the school. I graduated with a GPA above 4.0, I probably would have made a First if not for the borrowed courses we did in our 2nd and 3rd year.

The course "EEE" is easy and sweet; depending on the school though.

Very sure you are from a private uni... I also studied Electrical Engineering frm the Ahmadu Bello University, ABU and graduated with a 2'1. But it wasn't cheap. Out of 214 admitted into 100l 139 made it to 500l. 76 finally graduated, with 2 firstclass and 18 2'1(s), the rest were 2'2, 3rd class etc

OP, you well at all? Engineering?!! I'm an engineer dear, I know what I passed through in school, a friend that studied Agricultural engineering, saw hell "literally". Go and study in futo and you'll understand what I'm talking about.
My fiancee is studying Food Tech, I help her study most times I seriously respect FST students, that course is pure engineering.

BTW OP, what did you study? Walk a mile in the shoes of people studying these courses and you'll know that "when banana wey they make mouth follow plantain enter hot oil, im go no the difference".

Courses like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics are not easy at all.

Since the creation of the department of public administration in the University of Maiduguri, no one has graduated with a first class degree. It was in 1989 when it was a joint department under the nomenclature 'Political Science and administration' that a student was able to achieve that feat. The course looks easy to non-students, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

Yes it is true Most First Class graduates in Nigeria are engineers. I made First Class in Engineering so I understand.

But the reason why we have alot of First Class in engineering is not because engineering is easy. Engineering is tough. It require alot of hardwork.

The reason for d many first class is simple. it is because of the kind of students that mostly sturdy engineering in Nigeria.
It is a known fact that majority of the smartest, brilliant and intelligent students in Secondary Schools chose science class over art and social science.

And Most of the brilliant students in Science either choose Medicine or engineering.

So we can clearly say most of the best brain in Nigeria study medicine and Engineering. because of Medicine grading system, u dont hear of First class doctors.

But because engineering is graded like every other course in d University, most first class are from Engineering.

In summary, the reason why First Class is common in s courses you listed, has nothing to do with d courses but rather with the kind of students that study d courses.

No Nigeria federal university has produced first class in Sociology, don't know where u gt ur info from

Generally speaking though, it's easier to bag a first class degree in courses that entail calculations than those that don't have calculations. So, I totally agree with some of the courses the OP posted there.

Put simply, it's much more 'easier' for anyone to bag a first class degree in Mathematics/Computer Science, than for anyone to bag that same class of degree in English Language.

Yap... Relatively, courses like philosophy, English, psychology, law na die compare to accounting
