My exact thoughts. We need a pedestrian bridge and speed bumps on that road for Christ's sake. Mods do the needful. Rip to the dead

a pedestrian bridge was constructed before but it was never used. I think it was because it was too far from the gate. a flyover would have been the best.

So, what has the SUG of UniBen been doing all this years? Waiting on government? Are you joking or what?

Naijaboiy...please tell me that road has been blocked already. If the SUG can't do it, the guy who lost in the previous SUG election should mobilise students and do it. If y'all are waiting on the government, una go die finish for that school. Benue State University had the same issue for some time. When some girls died a few years back, they did the needful. Block that road, collect a 100 naira from every single motorist, dig it...buy cement and build triple bumps from the first gate to the place where the road ends. If government wants it removed, they should build a flyover where it is needed.

The remaining monies should be given to the dead girl's family and the one who is battling survival.

RIP and God speed to the one in recovery.

R.I.P to the dead........

But the way those Uniben students cross that road is nauseating. Some of them cross the roads as if they are strolling in their garden . Sometimes when I drive past that place and see the attitude those students display,I shake my head in pity.

Because, when they get hit, they will be the ones to die.

P.S: Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying the drivers are saints, but the students are the main culprits in issues like this.

One of the reasons living in BDPA is my least alternative.

The most annoying thing is the speed at which vehicles ply that road knowing fully well that students are always crossing the road. Why Nigerians are so impatient I don't know.

Speed break isn't an option as that is a federal road but pedestrian bridge.

Below is the picture of the dead student
But there is a pedestrian bridge that is rarely Used. Am not sure anybody climbs that bridge sef.

It is an irresponsible state government that will fail to see that road safety footbridges are a must have on the expresses roads connecting residential areas and schools and offices.
In this case, all the state governors in Nigeria have failed and they are still behaving like re-tared people who have eyes, but cannot see what they should have done with their revenue allocations.
UNIBEN, LASU and other tertiary institutions have such dangerous express roads with students risking their precious lives every day and some have been killed by hit and run drivers.

Then, school pupils, students and other pedestrians should not be in a hurry to rush across express roads in Nigeria, because many of the reckless drivers on the roads disobey road safety rules and in fact there are many illiterate drivers and I wonder why the Road Safety Commission should allow such drivers on the road.
Road Safety education should be taught from nursery school and not on the street when it is is already too late to learn.

There is no bridge anywhere around the school.

Honestly bro it's a very annoying matter.

In fact I noticed the state of the road when I came to write my Poste-utme few years back and that was when decided not to ever stay in that off campus opposite the school.

The SUG government? In my opinion they are lilly-livered motherfuckérs. Especially the previous administration which just finished it's tenure. They couldn't do anything inside the school not to talk of making an attempt on that road.

The president was just there to embezzle and his other excos were busy fighting for how much they will get from any little project that comes up.

The new government just came in this semester and they have been showing signs of commitment. So we are hopeful that they will do something regarding this issue.

I have never seen one there since 2005.
But even when footbridges are provided, many Nigerians ignore using them and risk their lives rushing across express roads as they do everyday in Lagos.
The most important thing is to teach road safety to all Nigerians from nursery school level.
Many parents don't even know how to cross roads in Nigeria.
In fact, one goat in Lagos knows more how to cross the street than many Nigerians.
The goat at only 6 months left Oworonshoki for Shomolu, and arrived safely alone after crossing many streets and roads and I saw it looking right and left before crossing the last street to enter into the house where there is now a Mr. BIGGS at the Morocco Bus Stop in Shomolu, Lagos.
This goat did not go to any school to understand road safety. But it is more intelligent than many Nigerian pupils, students and others. In fact, I have seen better parenting among Lagos goats and sheep than Nigerian parents.

Don't you think the bridge should be constructed first?

At least after that we can now blame any student for being careless when he/she tries to cross the road when there is a bridge.

Sometimes no matter how careful you are some drivers are just insane.
