D'Prince Stores at Isheri (Ojodu Berger) will definitely have. The owner's wife has a baby section on the first floor. That's where I bought the one I used in Naija...

Thank you. Would check these stores.

Cloth nappies....fine.

But cloth wipes......how do you maintain the hygeine? Cos just like plastic plates and oil, regular contact between clothes and poo/urine tends to leave remnants.
Do you wet it before use? Or how exactly.

And regarding the drying, there are many wipes out there that dont dry out...many.

undecided

lol well there are very few wipes which aren't drying (there's one that has 90% water content and it's not sold in Nigeria plus it's pricey ). I have 3 pediatricians and one clinical dermatologist (who sometimes has chikdren as his patienxts) as close family and friends. If my method was unhygienic, I would have heard by now. Plus if clothe was hard to be hygienic, why haven't hospitals all switched to paper fabrics? The hospital I gave birth in didn't provide disposable wipes, they gave us clothe wipes. I have used a lot of wipes before for years (far too many brands, workwise) and eventually they dried out skin or caused mild abrasion of sensitive skin. That's why I chose this method. I've never gotten poo on my hand before (my wipes are big) which happens with disposables or with those that use cotton wool to clean up during the first few weeks for baby. I'm not expecting to do this if I were handwashing them sha grin btw our diaper rash cleared up once I changed our cream and switched to clothe.

A lot of modern conveniences are convenient, not necessarily better.

Exactly what I wanted to say. I'm sure you have a washing machine and a big keg of disinfectant. Lol.

Whatever works for you sha. Your kid was prolly sensitive to wipes in it's entirety. Cos the wipes I know that dry out are the very very very cheap ones.

There is a new public group on Facebook named 'Ask the Paediatricians'. You can ask paediatricians and consultant paediatricians any question you need a health professional to answer. They are majorly Nigerians, so are conversant with issues peculiar to us Africans.

It would be nice if mamas here can join also. It gives you access to professional advice.

Mothers, let's be careful.

Eeyyaaaa!! Who in their right mind dilutes breast milkThat was why I was warned against giving my LO water..it causes more harm than good for infants.

No need to dilute...give it to the baby just as fresh and pure as it is.

GUDMORNI MAMAS IN D HOUSE@MYTESTIMONY HW IS MY ANGEL.PLS MAMAS I VE A BABY OF THREE MONTHS PLUS ND AM YET TO START MENSTRATING,IS IT NORMAL
Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by sayoberry(f): 11:16am On Jul 21, 2015
Update:

The twins are four and half months. Will be 5 by August 4.
I introduced gerber oat cereal last week. I first mixed with breast.milk I expressed and tried to give them with spoon. Twin girl enjoys the spoon but twin boy doesn't take the spoon he will cry and spit till I pour into the bottle for him.

When I can't express, I use sma for the mix. One scoop of sma plus 5 scoops of gerber for one baby. (or times 2) They finish 150ml to 200ml at one sitting (sometimes I have to make more). But if its ordinary sma they take just 60ml.

But gerber makes their poop hard so I give them 10ml water (boiled which I store in a 2 litre gallon)
My mil made the brown pap herself and grinded soya bean with it, but they don't like it at allllllll.

They don't have a particular time for eating so I feed on demand.
And we thank God the number of diaper we use had now reduced. grin

Personally, I won't give my 7 months prince milo or juice.
Milo is extra sugar and not essential for a 6mth old. Perhaps try something healthier as a sweet alternative, like some pureed strawberries, banana, apple, pear etc, stirred into the formula/breast milk
Thank you Charmybliz

Gerber doesn't have any taste at all (the oats) its when I mix with milk that makes it have taste. U can bottle feed cEreal but u won't make it too thick.
