Op it is more than enough. You can also do a small parlour party and have him and invite his friends let me even help you manage your money photographs should not be more than 2k at most 2,500 you don't need dj just get a music player with speakers and some music cds 2crates of soft drinks is enough a bag of table water and food shouldn't be more than 20k.cake of 5k is ok. Then decorate the house yourself party tide niyen 3 Likes |

Haba! The money won't be enought if she plans inviting people o! Did you include meat in that budget @ all? Those that would be invited will be taken there by their parents now, that means the parents mouth suppose join for the food too. In fact, cake alone go chop like 15k self (about 15 or 16 inch). The best she can get with that amount is to celebrate it in the child's school. It will be cheaper because most schools don't alow cooked food, she will use the money for that on party bags for the kids. mrwonlasewonie: 6 Likes |

Madam, to be honest the money won't be enough. As per 1st birthday o! If you intend to invite people, you will have to increase the money a little or leave the celebration till he is two. This will enable save towards it. These are the major things you will need the money for: meat, cake, pictures, drinks for children and adults and at least a little thing for the kids to take home. I don't know how many people you will be inviting sha. Or you can make it just you, your husband and a few family members and just share cake and drinks for neighbours and tell them you did very small, that next year you will celebrate and invite them. This is how I see it. All the best! Ronie24: |

FynBabe:I've broken it down before let me down again parlour Parry means small party. The child doesn't have to invite all his classmates in school and Sunday school class. Tell him to just invite 3 of his close friends in class 3of his close friends in the neighbourhood and 3of his close friends in church making 9 children there are affordable low price cakes. Find one struggling caterer you can tell to bake you better cake of not more than 5k.at most 7k rice of 8 derica is ok . One derica is 200 naira, so making it 200naira x 8 cups is1600 naira. tomato 400 naira, pepper 200 naira is ok then 100 naira onions, 50naira Maggi, thyme of 80 naira making it 830naira then buy 2kilo of turkey. A kilo is 800 naira so 2 will be 1600 naira photographs shouldn't be more than 2k A pack of plastic coke is 2k.mix it with fanta another 2k making it 4k.no need for dj.na parlour party. Just make the environment children friendly and put children music on those that want to play video game should go to another section of the sitting room No need to buy water. Water is in the dispenser near the dinning table. Any child that wants water should indicate then pack of sweet is 400 naira Big bowl of ice cream is 1500 just pour some inside small plastic cups for them decorate the sitting room with balloons. Just buy 150 naira balloons calculate all that money and tell me if e reach 10k talk more of 40k .you people just believe that if you've not done a big party for kids you've not done anything souvenirs too shouldn't be too expensive. Inside the souvenir will be exercise book of 100 naira. Put 3sweet and 3chewing gum. Buy sweet of 3 ten naira and chewing gum 10 naira making it 20 naira. Put eraser 5m 30 naira and pencil 10 naira inside the souvenir small nylon as take away for 9 kids lobatan 23 Likes 5 Shares |

Collect high five. See as the party don happen now now. They are kids. Non of them will go home and say 'tunde's party wasn't all that' If they enjoy their day, that's all that matters. SAMBARRY: 2 Likes |

cococandy:exactly. Kids are very innocent. They don't know jack and are always very grateful so they'll definitely have a swell time. Infact if I want to put jara inside I can buy small small 50 naira coconut chocolate and give them while they're even dancing or watching cartoon or playing games. That is economics |

SAMBARRY: Sambarry there is def some ijebu genes lurking in there Very well broken down I personally (that's my belief ) don't believe in going OTT for 1st year birthday parties as 1 yr olds tend to get cranky with large crowds. I also think a childs party is for the child , how will a one year old experience or enjoy lavish parties? I guess all the pictures of my 1st birthday party with me crying or my mum trying to get me to look at the camera (plus countless others of cranky 1 yr olds at others i attended esp those that change them like 4 times ) put me off all that stress. We had just us and her cousins when my daughter was one and maybe 4 more peooke when my son was one. Dont think I spent more than £300 on either celebrations. From 5 they can get a say and actually have friends that they will enjoy it with. The most important thing is pictures so you can show them 'this was your first birthday'. |

damiso: You sef see am. She needs to do some "Kunta Kinte" on her lineage
You even try. I just buy the buyables and take it to their school or children's church. I can bet celebrating it in their comfort zone makes them happier sef. |
Re: Opinion From Mothers Pls by Nobody: 2:11am On Jul 22, 2015 |
OP, if you had just 5k to spare, it would be enough. You don't have to invite the entire world to your child's birthday. Most of those who will attend won't give a fvck about or your child and just come for the free food. Why do I have the feeling the addition to the 40k will not be coming from your pocket? If all you had was that 40k you wouldn't be here spamming the forum with frivolous questions. Cut your coat according to your husband's pocket abeg. 1 Like |
