mzilakazi:The NAF has flown over 5000 sorties since july last year till date..yet no one has ever heard of "collateral damage everywhere". After 5 years of constant aerial operations, only 2 fighter jets,1 helicopter and 1 armed drone has crashed so far. This is a testament of the level of professionalism in the NAF,we beat the egyptian airforce in professionalism. 1 Like |

mzilakazi:You must be an illiterate, the FG gave out N400bn bailout to 16 states for the payment of state workers, while the Central Bank of Nigeria approved a soft loan to cushion individual state economies from crashing out on short term basis. Where does it say that the FG is 'penniless'?,if the FG is broke, will it be able to give out $1.6bn bailout to 16 states and sponsor the MNJTF with another $10m?,if Nigeria is broke, will the CBN be able to approve another N300bn soft loan to ailing state governments? The educational standard of UNISA must have sunk to an all-time low,for them to even admit a doddery dunce like you into the university. 1 Like |

Nigeria has one of the lowest net electricity generation per capita rates in the world. The organisation responsible for electricity production and supply in Nigeria is the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), formerly the National Electric Power Authority, known as NEPA. Nigeria is in the process of privatising the PHCN, hoping this will lead to greater investment in the sector and consequently increased power generation. Nigeria’s epileptic power supply has taken a turn for the worse in recent months. Despite investing over $30 billion in the sector in the past 15 years, the total electricity supply as at today is less than a mere 1,400 megawatts (MW) for a country of over 170 million people. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/05/nigerias-electricity-crisis-is-a-failure-in-leadership/ SOUTH AFRICA ESKOM, with a generating capacity of 35 200 MW from 20 power stations, is one of the largest utilities in the world, and generates approximately 98% of South Africa's electricity. Generation is primarily coal-fired, but also includes a nuclear power station at Koeberg, two gas turbine facilities, two conventional hydroelectric plants, and two hydroelectric pumped-storage stations. The company also owns and operates the national transmission system. Seventy percent of South Africa’s population have access to electricity, well above the SADC average of around 20 %. South Africa, Africa's most industrialised nation, generates 44 175 megawatts for its 51-million people. Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation, generates about 3 200 megawatts for its 170-million people. Simply put, per capita, South Africans enjoy 55 times more electricity than Nigerians. Size isn’t everything The country may be a giant, but it is still poor: Nigeria ranks 153rd out of 187 countries in the UN’s Human Development Index. Despite the rapid growth of recent years, unemployment remains high and the number of people in poverty has actually increased. Even with the revised figures, GDP per head is only $2,700; South Africans are more than twice as rich. Whereas large parts of South Africa have a rich country’s infrastructure, Nigeria suffers from clogged traffic and chronic power cuts. Lack of development is helping to breed an insurgency in the mainly Muslim north and stokes violence elsewhere that creates no-go areas for foreigners. And the numbers also show its growth rate is slipping—to perhaps 6.5% this year. To absorb the millions of young people pouring into the labour market, Nigeria requires the sustained double-digit growth that China has shown to be http://www.economist.com/news/leaders/21600685-nigerias-suddenly-supersized-economy-indeed-wonder-so-are-its-still-huge |

mzilakazi: Everyone knows that Nigeria is a poor country and is broke. It is a pauper nation. There is no way it could finance a military effort. http://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2015/jul/21/nigeria-dire-finances-show-it-cannot-grease-economy-fickle-oil-alone Nigeria's dire finances show it cannot grease the economy with fickle oil alone Twenty-three of Nigeria’s 36 states have not paid their civil servants for months, while spending on capital projects has been frozen, in some cases since last year. In south-western Osun state, the situation is so bad that trade unions sought food and cash donations for workers before the Ramadan month of fasting. __ Nigeria is Africa's biggest oil producer, but most of its citizens are poor. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-33239258 |

Thiza: Why did MTN and over 100 South African companies run to Nigeria? I see your country is a far less profitable place to do business compared to Nigeria. Millions of Chinese, Indians, Mexicans, Philippinos, Egyptians, Lebanese etc are immigrants all over the world in America, Europe and Africa. Then South African whites are running away to USA, EU, Australia. Other South Africans, blacks and coloureds have poor education combined with spirit of laziness and lack of professional job experience to make them survive outside the ANC cash hand out comfort zone for lazy Soweto parasites, that is why your own people cannot travel out. |

Patchesagain: You don't. France has no pilots shortage. They could have 300 pilots for 130 Rafale jets. France has minimum of 60 Rafale pilots flying 180 hours. Never mind the 100 Mirage 2000 pilots. French Rafale pilots alone are more than all combat pilots existing in South African air force. SAAF has 6 Gripen pilots flying 10 to 20 hours each....Botswana is better than you . 2 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by DieVluit: 9:23pm On Jul 21, 2015 |
agaugust: What an id1ot you are. A cut amounting to 5% of what you earn is far better than one amounting to 50% of what you earn, whether you are talking nairas or dollars. Fact is 50% of your officials's salaries will be cut. That's 50% closer to 100%. The Canadians are a whopping 95% away from 100%. A share that loses 50% of its value is worse than one that loses 5% if its value, even if you are comparing pennies and dollars Face it, you are dirt poor, you lot. You have no money. Your president said it and your nation is acting it. People are sitting unpaid and you have already borrowed more than half of your borrowing limit; and it's not even August yet. 2 Likes |

DieVluit: South Africa exceeded it's borrowing limit many years ago ! Foreign dollar debt of $40 Billion that you cannot afford to repay Nigeria owes only $7 Billion, so South Africa is 6 times poorer than we are....SA is in debt deep shiit...can't compare that kinda multi-billion dollar debt to the salary arrears Nigeria just paid with shares/dividend and tax income. Now go pay South Africa's $40 Billion debt first, then come back and talk about Nigeria Onigbese Southie... |
