boss,

you are forgetting an angle to this, the choice whether or not to reside in the states and/or enjoy the benefits is entirely yours.
simply put, the states prepared a buffet for you (for which it is mandatory you pay as long as you are a guest*citizen) however if/not you eat from the table is totally your call.

there is a very easy way out of it... drop the blue if you dont like d conditions.. lets not be claiming the US citizen name n not wanna pay the piper when its required of us.

Very well said olokings... U should read my reply to ralphlauren about going the canadian way. I said as much..

My son would probably move to the US when old enough, become a Tax consultant with a branch office in Nigeria here and make millions shocked shocked by helping your children file their tax returns yearly grin grin grin cheesy

Yeah, unfortunately I have run out of time for any further research. She is due in sept and has a ticket to travel next week embarassed cry

She is also a lead vocalist in the choir that modath mentioned. grin cheesy grin

I have decided that once my child is old enough he'll go and live in the US so as not to burden him unnecessarily with the double taxation. Let him pay them the tax and enjoy the benefits over there..

I wish your Mrs safe delivery.

I'll be expecting IV for the ikomo wink

i am sure if i had come here with detailed info on how to claim benefits/tax credits, etc or how get schloarship for your wards and not overburden them with student loans or how to get your green card via your ward even before they clock 18, you will urge me on even if i drag it for 10pages. undecided undecided

You don't need to reply them all.
Whether or not they admit it, you jst gave most of them info they weren't privy too...
Although it may not be sufficient for most of them to have a change of heart on the matter, the ones that find it helpful will work with it

So here's my POE story...

Flew Emirates from Lagos to Dubai. They accepted my fit to fly. Didn't have any problems at MMA. Got to Dubai and got on the connecting flight in a matter of minutes thanks to the wheelchair service. On getting on the flight, they asked for fit to fly again. The service on the flight was really good. The air hostesses were really nice and generous with food and drinks but not generous enough to upgrade me to business class... unfortunately.

POE at Dallas was very smooth. Took about 6 mins in all. This was how it went...
What's the purpose of your trip - Vacation and child birth
can I see your doctor's and hospital correspondence - showed her (she started looking through it)
How much is the total bill - Told her about $6,000
Have you made any payment? Can I see receipts? - No I haven't made any payment yet. It's against the hospital's policy
Will you be paying out of pocket - Yes I will
How much do you have with you - Told her
When was the last time you were in the USA? - Told her
What do you do in nigeria - Told her
Is that why you travel so much? (flipping through my passport) - Not exactly
Did you bring any food stuff with you? - Yes.
What sort of food stuff? - Told her garri, egusi, palm oil, dry pepper, crayfish, pepper soup spices etc. I sha declared all the food stuff I brought. I didn't want wahala. (Apparently they know all these things)
Any fresh foods? - No
How long do you intend to stay - 3 months
3 months after the birth or 3 months from today? - 3 months from today

She stamped me in for 6 months and sent me to baggage claim, afterwhich I was wheeled to customs cos I declared over $10k.

Got to customs. They asked me why I was in the US and asked if my child birth was the reason I brought that amount of money. Told them Yes. They gave me a form to fill and sent me on my way. That took about 6 mins too.

And that's all folks!
