President Muhammadu Buhari may have wasted his four day visit to the United States as he was unable to wring out a concession from his hosts over sale of sophisticated weapons to countries abusing human rights.

The United States holds fast to its amended Leahy Law that forbids collaboration with nations not respecting the rights of people, a constant accusation against Nigerian armed forces prosecuting the Boko Haram war since 2009.

President Buhari in the run up to his visit to the US had promised to probe the allegations, but his efforts did not impress his hosts.

At his last public engagement in the US today, moderated by the former United States Secretary of State for African Affairs, Ambassador Johnnie Carson, Buhari voiced out his frustration, hoping that US would have a change of mind, or else Boko Haram will get deadlier.

“The blanket application of the Leahy Law by the United States on the grounds of unproven allegations of human rights violations levelled against our forces has denied us access to appropriate strategic weapons to prosecute the war against the insurgents.”

“ In the face of abduction of innocent school girls from their hostels, indiscriminate bombings of civilians in markets and places of worship, our forces have remained largely impotent because they do not possess the appropriate weapons and technology which they could have had, had the so called human rights violations not been an obstacle.

“Unwittingly, and I dare say, unintentionally, the application of the Leahy law amendment by the U. S. Government has aided and abetted the Boko Haram terrorist group in the prosecution of its extremist ideology and hate, the indiscriminate killings and maiming of civilians, in raping of women and girls, and in their other heinous crimes.

“I believe this is not the spirit of the Leahy Laws. I know the American people cannot support any group engaged in these crimes. I therefore strongly appeal to both the Executive Arm and the US Congress to examine how the US Government can provide us with far more substantial counter-terrorism assistance with minimal strings. The longer we delay, the deadlier the Boko Haram gets.

“At all events, we have re-written the rules of engagement protecting the rights of combatants and in particular safeguarding civilians in theatres of conflict.”

He also told the audience that he would work very hard to sustain the current goodwill his government had received at home and abroad.

The President said despite his perceived slowness and the reality of lack of resources, he would work very hard “so that people will see and believe that we are trying and can deliver and hopefully become less critical.”

President Buhari, while acknowledging the huge challenges confronting his administration such as the crash in the price of crude oil, its theft, pipeline vandalisation in the Niger Delta, hostage taking and insecurity in the North East, restated his determination to sustain the goodwill by working very hard.

Good morning Buhari. You have now seen the devil called US.

Why would the US govt support a terrorist and jihadist like you?

The only thing they need from you is to take that freshly minted paper dollar as a sign of your commitment never to look towards China ever again.

This after all is the only reason that bastard in the white house propped and supported your despotic presidency.

In other words, the U.S wants Ihejirika's and the other service chief's heads that were indicted in the Amnesty Human Rights report.

It would have been a miracle if they actually agreed to fight BH, you cannot fight yourself.

No. The only thing Buhari is expected to do is agree to collecting $50bn world bank loan from where you will remain in bondage to western banks for the next 40yrs.

Why you think all these rubish talk of no money is all about? It is to precondition you to accept Buhari's govt taking a juicy World Bank loan.

Buhari has already taken $2.1 bn dollars from the World Bank to rebuild the NE which he can only repay from sale of our oil.

Buhari takes first tranche of World Bank loan

I warned you here that all this change chanting nonsense is geared towards returning Nigeria to the dollar and to ensure we remain tied to the dollar the US through institutions like World Bank and IMF will roll out a juicy loan package for Nigeria.

Buhari Set To Cancel Strategic Chinese Direct Investments In Place Of IMF Loans.
The concluded WEF held in Abuja in May, 2014 saw China unveil a $42bn investment over the next 10yrs in the African continent with Nigeria expected to gulp the highest share of over $30bn in direct infrastructural investment, energy sector and manufacturing.

With the emergence of the newly appointed Colonial Governor of the Royal Niger Company aka Nigeria, expect to see Buhari cancel outrightly all Chinnese direct investments in preference to western loans from the IMF, World Bank and Paris Club.

Off course, all the newly borrowed money will be diverted with nothing on ground to show for it but debt for the next 40years.

Who told you he will use whatever freshly minted dollars to rebuild the northeast? He will claim the money he is taking is for that purpose but what he really intends to do is divert more money from the SouthSouth because eventually it is the oil that will be used to repay the loan and not groundnut.

If only President Mohammed Buhari knew better, he would not have boasted in his campaigns like he did that he will stop boko haram shortly after he's elected president.

If only he knew better, he would not have ordered the removal of military checkpoints, at least not on the roads of the North East.

If only he knew better, he would not have delayed till now before making key appointments into his cabinet so he could give them specific tasks toward looking inwards for solutions to our problems instead of hobnobbing all over the world to merry with two-faced friends of ours.

If only President Buhari knew better, he would not have been fidgetery, jittery, unstable, double-minded, multiple-mouthed and undecided over boko haram's offer of negotiations; he would have stamped his feet on the ground and taken decisive decisions to stem out the sect.

If only Buhari knew better, he would have desisted from making excuses like: 'I wish I was much younger', 'I can't use 2months to fix what the now opposition party used 16years to destroy', etc.

If only he knew better, he would have gone to school.

Infact, if president Buhari knew better, he would

NOT HAVE CONTESTED TO BE PRESIDENT.

Tell him when you see him, he does not know any better.
THAT IS THE PROBLEM.
