There's nothing gainful about the tour! You called it a tour, and a tour it really was. We gained nothing as a nation but your reckless shepherd had fun touring the States and staging press conference with less influential secretary of state.
He honoured an invitation, was he asked to honour the invitation with his APSheee flocks and demons? What did we gain? The loss of 2.2billion Naira to the futile Blair house adventure?
How many business ties/deals were announced throughout his photo-taking adventure in the US? Isn't it in the news that your hero-father Buhari has accused America of aiding Boko Haram? He can't have toured the White House gainfully and still comeback to wail about America's ghost aid to Boko Haram.
Is this present government not sophisticated enough to be leaping with euphoria of joy at the mention of any superfluous achievement? What will the presence of Obama add to Nigeria? What was the impact of the visits of Bill Clinton, Queen Eliza and co in their various visits to Nigeria? How far have the countries Obama visited progressed? Is it that this government lacks confident and has more faith in less concerned nations helping them fight it's battle? This is terribly interesting!
"America will know." how many of us remember that famous sentence? Bikonu, if America doesn't or didn't know how then will they be able to help recover the stolen funds? They even made mockery of him and called him all sorts of despicable and derogatory names, no thanks to their lack of decorum. But now it seems they're also doing the same thing they insulted him of. Talk about hypocrisy!
This government is built on lies and hypocrisy, and whatever you hypocritically accuses your neighbour of, you must surely fall victim to someday.
Fulaman or fulamafia or whatever your name is, you can't hide the truth no matter how hard you try to decorate and embellish your lies. barcanista: 1. Honoring an Invitation has no effect on Nigerians.
2. For real? How many business deal did Buhari sign in US? How many MoUs did he initiate or sign? Which commitment did he secure (not jiust verbal commitment)? Which policy was discussed or formulated? whatever may be our response on this topic will never cancel the fact that Buhari is the President of this country and he has the right to honor any invitation given to him by any other president which he so desired to honor.
And when you talk about business deals and MOUs don't you think we should first have a good relationship before talking about those, secondly have you asked yourself what happened to all the business deals and MOUs the past administrations have been signing, please Nigerian's we should learn how to exercise patient and try to love our country.
3. What kind of diplomatic tie did he strengthen? Is it not embarrassing that Obama left his "visitor" in the US to a Secretary of State (Foreign Minister) and not even his VP? Is that not embarassing?
4. Which loot did he recover@OP? This is funny... Are you aware that even before PMB won election the Americans had agreed to repatriated $480million Abacha's loot in 2014? www.360nobs.com/2014/08/u-s-to-return-480-million-of-abacha-loot/
5. Jonathan already criminalised Homosexuality. That is not even a subject of negotiation.
OP stop embarrassing Buhari... Buhari went to the USA to embarass Nigerians and also wasted tax payers money. 1 Like 1 Share |

National embarrassment, some many countries are doing very well without America, North Korea, Iraq etc, why must we go to where they mock us. PMB should have learned from GEJ. Remember GEJ went to visit Obama after his was elected president of Nigeria, after the visit what happened, still no assistant.
Nigerian leaders should stay on there own, PMB should invite Obama lets see if he will honour the invitation. |

fulanimafia: I was enveloped with utter amazement and disbelief at the baseless sentiments being peddled on this forum by members of the opposition, that the recent US trip embarked upon by President Buhari was entirely fruitless and a waste of resources. That assertion could have been correct and be categorized as a product of sanity if not for the following facts:
1. PMB honoured an invitation.
The first point to note President Buhari did not just embark on the trip for sightseeing or primarily to go and seek for weapons, but the visit was in honour of President Barrack Obama’s invitation on the strength of our president’s local and international goodwill. Thus international goodwill is as a result of the president’s acclaimed integrity, discipline and incorruptibility. This goodwill largely accounted for the way Buhari and his entourage were accommodated in Blair’s House, which serves as a site for “American Diplomacy” during the visit. This shows the esteem with which Buhari is held on account of this goodwill considering the fact that previous visiting Nigerian leaders never had such luxury treatment. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/185645-obama-invites-buhari-to-white-house.html
2. External Support for Policy Formulation & Execution
Indeed international partners had a rare opportunity to engage Nigeria on a new beginning given the fact that ministers are yet to be appointed and key policies are still being worked out, their input would definitely contribute to the shaping of this new governments policies, which would also make it more likely that we will have their full support in the execution of such policies. The input from potential investors and Biz executives at the recent meeting with Buhari in Washington is a case in point. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/buhari-woos-american-businessmen-to-invest-in-nigerian-economy/
3. Diplomatic Ties
There are also diplomatic consequences of the visit. It has the prospect of strengthening diplomatic relations of both countries. Obama has never visited Nigeria in his almost eight-year-tenure. This is not best for the image of Nigeria as the greatest black African Nation. Buhari’s visit may have provided a convenient platform for Obama to reciprocate the gesture by undertaking a visit to Nigeria in no distant future. http://www.voanews.com/content/boosting-us-nigerian-ties-heart-obama-buhari-meeting/2866827.html
4. Recovery of Foreign Loot Nigeria also requires assistance in retrieving stolen wealth stashed in some American commercial banks or covert agencies. There are strong indications and suggestions that some of these loots have been deployed in the purchase of expensive and expansive estate in Washington D.C. and its environs particularly the State of Maryland. As a result of this visit, the United States said it will assist Nigeria in locating and returning funds stolen by corrupt government officials. http://uk.reuters.com/article/2015/07/19/uk-usa-nigeria-idUKKCN0PT03R20150719
5. Re-enforcement of Anti-Gay Stance
President Buhari on this U.S trip, re-emphasized that Nigeria's Anti-sodomy legislation stands and will not be repealed as it goes against the culture and morals of Nigerians. President Buhari's refusal to compromise on this stance has been applauded by Nigerians far and wide. The expectation is that the president’s latest visit to the US has marked a good beginning for the realisation of Nigerian’s vast potential. As noted by Obama, Buhari came into the office with a reputation of integrity and a clear agenda on corruption and Boko Haram insurgency including fixing the economy and infrastructure, therefore I call on members of the opposition to realize that months of wailing will not return Jonathan, so they should join hands with all Nigerians to achieve these objectives for the betterment of our nation.
The thread is as useless as Buhari visit is a flop. Restructure Nigeria or forget it. 1 Like |

when did honouring an invitation become an achievement? Xternal support 4 policy 4mulation and execution isn't an achievement. Infact its unnecessary. As a sovereign nation, nigeria doesn't need america 2 support its policies. Abdusalam, OBJ, Yar Adua, GEJ at one time or another recovered foreign loot without visiting d white house. U xpect obama 2 visit nigeria? That's a tall dream. Obama has about 18 months 2go. I doubt if a visit 2 nigeria will b a priority. Even if he does visit, what will b d benefit 2 nigerians. Afterall, clinton and bush came. Did that provide jobs 4 every unemployed youth? D points u highlighted aren't achievements. they are just activities. Its d result of these activities that we can call achievements, that's what we need 2 wait 4. 1 Like |

The tour was fruitless and everybody can see that, even your fellow All Pathetic Clown (APC)members know that. You lots are just terrible! A lot of you talk about US as if your people are not there. A lot of Nigerians have traveled for summer here and there. I will be surprised if you have no relative living in the US. There is nothing we can achieve as a nation without the western world |

Pmb is not representing us well. I am particularly concerned with the kind of English he speaks. It is better for him to speak Hausa, or go with eloquent representatives.Obama must have had difficulties understanding him hence the decision to transfer him to Kerry, since baba forgot to go with a translator. |
