Atlantian:But he has not being doing it alone since nah! He has heads of the Federal Ministries assisting him since, why do people fail to realize this? I think the issue is people are actually wired to the sound ministers, what if an alternative cabinet set-up can help Nigerians reach close to optimal goal requested by the average Nigerians. Pls let us shun sentiments and support him, he is not failing at all (at least with this pace). |

[qWe are reorganizing the existing plethora of anti-corruption bodies into single powerful agency that will have the focus, power and budget to clamp down on corruption at the federal and state levels,’ the president told journalists. http://pulse.ng/politics/buhari-president-says-ministers-wont-award-contracts-again-id4010267.html
Did hé really say that? |

Well Well Well !!! This is an interesting initiative. I guess the plan is to curb corruption by centralizing powers to issue contracts. the truth is that right from the Obasanjo administration, contracts above a certain ceiling can only be approved by the Federal Executive Council. What does this new rule mean? Does it mean even contracts to supply toilet roll for N250,000 per month must come to the President? Unless he has some automatic software for remote approval, this would be a recipe for disaster. Budget implementation has typically hovered between 60-70%, under the previous method. Under this one, we may well see it hit the 25-30% mark. Will be interesting to see how this works.------- If Femi Adesina the denial master does not deny it first!!! 3 Likes |

MrCounselor:Think with your head, not with your anus. Every Democracy in this planet have Ministers. The pedigree and credentials of your Ministers is what sends a signal to the world about your policy statement and forecasting. No one will do business with you as a country because you are using career civil servants and head of ministries. Buhari has NEVER worked with people. He was a military dictator, now as a converted democrat, it is alien to his nature to work with people, so he becomes Democratic Dictator. Even when he appoints Ministers he will muscle them to be like servants to him. How can a secondary school drop out ever think he can gain Foreign Direct Investment with his common-sense approach to macro-economic dynamics ? Buhari is a popular mor0n for running the country on autopilot, we do not know our direction. 2 Likes |

I do not agree that looters should return their loot and go free. What will serve as deterrent to intending looters? After returning the loot, they should go to jail. Maybe you can give them less sentence. If returning the loot is the only punishment, then I will try my luck. Who knows? I may not be caught. |
Re: President Says Ministers Won't Award Contracts Again by Certifiedboss: 12:13pm On Jul 26, 2015 |
Sweetguy25: You might be the stupid one without knowing . Those ministers that award contract to themselves in the names of their children and relations . In a case where the award to an outsider they see 30 or 40% after the job which leaves the contractor with very little to run the project that's where you see a road having potholes before its being commissioned . The Delta state Airport in Asaba was awarded to a man by the state government in am agreement that he's going to build a befitting hospital for him as appreciation after the contract , but the man built the hospital and didn't hand it over to the governor and it sparked trouble between them . So many instances like this are everywhere . |

If we do not shout, this idi0t that calls himself President will mess up the country. We owe ourselves the responsibility of stopping this mess by a secondary school drop out with the accent of a desert nomad. Now we have permanent queues at the filling stations. Boko Haram kills per second. And one id0t wasted an opportunity we had to bring Foreign Direct Investment by showcasing Oshomole's imported trophy, Amaechi's Harry Potter dressing. Rochas with stomach of a frog and a useless towel on his neck. Yet the billionaire Employers of labour were not invited. No Economic team. No policy directions. No Ministers. Buhari is the most useless human being ever created by nature. 2 Likes |

Sincere9gerian:a minister has little or nothing to lose but a permanent secretary in any ministry has a lot to lose if found wanting. So if d bounden of signing contacts rest on d permanent secretary and he or she is involved in corruption. He or she will be sacked, lose his or her benefits for a career built for 30-35 years, face corruption charges and consequencely jailed. So u can see there is wisdom in what d government wants to do 1 Like |
