High carbon steel is used to sharpen medium and low carbon steel and wrought iron. You na high carbon steel while kaboninc na medium carbon steel, hence you have low ductility (restricted to all women on the "Tag and Ask" thread) but high hardness (very effective)..

On the other hand, Kabo has relatively high ductility (has several from different threads) but relatively low hardness (not so effective in the sharpening business).. grin
