The picture of that young poor innocent girl will continue to haunt my consciousness about the unity in Nigeria or lack thereof. It has become one of the igniting burners in me to sue for the end of the jungle called Nigeria.

See how my environment was before this wicked pollution and degradation.

Whenever a hat drops, SS/SE want Nigeria to divide along ethnic lines. Go round the world and you will find that most countries comprise of different nationalities working for the common good of all.

South Africa, Ghana, Senegal, Zambia, Cameroun, Kenya, Ethopia, China, Russia, UK, USA, Canada, India, Pakistan, etc, are just examples of multi-ethnic countries.
If every tribe wants its own country, will you divide Nigeria into 300+ countries?

Yugoslavia was a western conspiracy aimed at weakening Russian hold on Eastern Europe. USSR was a collection of countries in a union, which could no longer continue the space and global domination race with the west and America. It was not militancy or the biafran-like chorus that dissolved USSR. Even today majority remain in a confederation of independent states.

War is a brunt instrument that kills mostly the innocent people while war-mongers and leaders sit in air-con offices.

I dare say however that Nigeria will be Nigeria and if the militants in the SS/SE want an expensive experiment, Nigeria will execute it with a ferocity unequalled in Biafran war. I pray not for war, though some untrained souls on NL have the annoying habit of beating the drums of war on empty stomach.

Arrant nonsense. Most developed countries of the world are homogeneous. It foolhardy to cite USA and other countries as diverse at their formative years. USA was purely English and the culture remains solidly the same till today. Do I need to mention Japan, Germany, Italy, France and even Portugal? I do not give a ratass if Nigeria is divided into 350 nation states as long as I have Republic of Igbo land.

Ultimately that is what should be done: to create a confederation of independent states or regions so development comes at comfortable paces for each region. Nigeria is too blessed to have her economy n resources tied mainly to one source. This continued unitary system that emasculates the minority to their detriment must stop. The moment that is achieved the quest for secession will most likely die a natural death or be severely weakened and there'll practically be a level ground for all thus making the centre unattractive. Until that is done peacefully, people will feel cheated n rightfully so. Then they end up taking up arms and demanding a forceful disintegration. Let wisdom n justice prevail.

Imagine Aregbesola and other inept governors justifying their inability to pay salaries on d basis of d crash in oil prices. If we had regional representation and development would he be looking up to the centre for bailouts? Or relying on oil prices? Each affected region would have decided what it needed and worked towards fulfilling their mandates. Where they fail their regional heads or leaders would be held fully responsible with nowhere to hide. Oshiomhole will not be haranguing Okonjo Iweala for any reason because his region would have it's financial team to hold accountable. Even the Borno State governor along with the leaders of his region would not allow boko haram to fester while he sits comfortably calling for amnesty for a bunch of lawless brigands n criminals hiding under the guise of religion because it is the hard earned resources from his region that would be compromised. However when he expects amnesty for no worthwhile cause and it is expected that d cash cow called the ND will produce d funds needed for such amnesty program due to no fault of theirs, do u expect them to applaud n be happy?

You are the arm-chair war monger who construed that agitation for independent home land equates to war-mongering. No wonders most Nigerians are regarded as wild beasts. USSR, which was better than Nigeria in every human endeavor, disintegrated without a shot fired in anger.

Truth is bitter. Your haphazard assumption as to disintegration of USSR is deficient.

What a daft pretension to knowledge! Ever heard of native Americans? US is a country of immigrants in addition to the natives. The other countries are a collection of aboriginal, migrants, intermarriages and regional dialectic people. Your republic of igbo land is a mirage, bigot!

We youths of the Niger Delta have to take uP violent struggle and be willing to lay down their lives, that is the only way forward, it is the only language buhari and his pack of gambari animals and yoruba cohorts understand and till we do that we remain noisemakers and no different from the lily livered yoruba noisemaking boys.

Nigeria has been mismanaged beyond words: both the states and the central government. The level of corruption is nauseating to say the least. Compounding the ND situation is that their leaders are in it for themselves; thereby depriving the people of any benefits. The so-called MEND commanders became millionaires and contractors under GEJ at the expense of their foot soldiers.

The oil companies are allowed to get away with blue murders. The environmental devastation of ND by the oil companies has not been adequately addressed because those who should prosecute erring companies are also on the take.

In the US, the cost of BP oil spillage of 2010 is costing the company almost $43 billion because the government's first duty is the protection of its people, their livelihood and property.

In Nigeria, the government will not champion the fight for compensation for the affected communities. This situation is not helped by pipeline vandalism.

Nigeria has numerous solid minerals, including gold, but everybody is focused on quick money that oil brings to the neglect of other sources of revenue. The lesson from dwindling oil revenue will refocus minds.

Despite all this, war is not an option nor is secessionism. It will only cause untold suffering to ND people because when two elephants fight, the grass suffers.

Very original reasoning, except that you cannot call MEND an elephant in any real sense as far as Nigerian Army is concerned. The war will be in the SS or SE if biafra makes any noise, which I doubt for fear of being burnt twice. grin grin grin

How many oil wells does Odili have, and how has he improved the lives of his own people? Tompolo and Asari are billionaires and how has that improved the lives of their people?
Nigerians are too easily deceived by the parasitic class of leaders who know no tribe or tongue problem when it comes to sucking the nations resources dry. What has Asari built in his village, before starting to build his university in a Benin Republic? Has anyone concerned themselves with fiscal discipline in the local governments or states that receive so much in derivation and directly from the oil companies? Wike made his fortune from local government and his reward is that you make him governor, abi? All good, I might as well start my own marginalisation song too!
