One of the communities in Rivers state (Mile 3, Obiakpor etc) where they claim keeping/rearing of female dogs is a sacrilege, yesterday Monday, 27th July beat up a non-indigene male resident whose sister asked to help keep her Rottweiler dog while she travel for few days. The young man lamented that he collected the dog for safekeeping for his sister only for some youths of the community where he resided to come to his house in his absence and beat up his gate man, slaughtered the dog. When he returned and found what happened he quickly rushed the gate man to hospital and arrested two among the boys that perpetrated the evil act, later the said youths invaded his home and destroyed his property and reported him to the community leader who summoned him to his palace and asked him to release the arrested boys before the following morning and fined him one hundred and fifty thousand naira for violating the law of their land.

The young man said he has no inkling about the law of no keeping of female dogs in the community when interviewed by people if he knew about the law.

The community is now a threat to his life and property as advises from people suggested that he withdraw the case from police and park out of the community in no time. A few others who suggested that he take the case to higher police authority were also confronted with threats and were told that the police cannot do anything, that the community is theirs and not the police's.

This is a warning to all the non-indigenes living in Rivers state to be careful and those planning to move to the state. These people are barbaric and heartless, very cruel and devilish.

Remember the issue of Oba Akiolu and the South African xenophobia that Nigerians cried and lamented now our own fellow Nigerians are acting worse than these people yet no one will say anything. The worst of it is that these Rivers people acts with so much impunity, as if they are above the law. Rubbish set of barbaric people claiming to be civilized.

I tell U, the extreme divergence of our cultures & traditions really makes us strange bedfellows (Nigeria).

There must be a reason behind such tradition, in my village (for example), it is forbidden to rear pigs, because pigs have been known for exhuming corpses at the village cemetery.

Every community has rules/regulation biding them together. That defines their culture.

There are certain things the white man culture can't take away from us. And that is our tradition.

Note:Any place you find yourself, always ask to know their likes and dislikes to enable u coup well with them.

Never heard of Such before since no female dog how the male Dog won born. Well it custom and tradition even if u win the case in court. With them u won't find that place easy or safe to leave.
