FG Reverses JAMB's Policies On Admission!!! by leo2sexy: 10:22pm On Jul 28, 2015 |
The Federal Government has reversed the decision by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board to allow candidates that applied to universities with surplus applicants for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations to be reassigned to other universities with lower number of applicants than their capacities. The policy had been trailed by protests in parts of the country. The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr.MacJohn Nwaobiala, disclosed this to State House correspondents on Tuesday after briefing President Muhammadu Buhari of his ministry's activities and challenges at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. JAMB had at its 2015 Combined Policy Meeting adopted the policy. Protests started at the University of Lagos when the institution's authorities announced that only candidates whose names were officially forwarded by JAMB would be eligible to participate in this year’s UNILAG Post-UTME. www.thisdaylive.com/articles/fg-reverses-jambs-policy-on-admission/215900/ 3 Likes 3 Shares

Am surprised Prof Dibu could be so insensitive to the plights of the Masses. There factors often considered when choosing a school when filling your JAMB form. 1. Cost 2. Proximity 3. Familiarity 4. Security 5. Institutions reputation 6. Academic excellence and so on.... How can he just wake up one morning, perhaps with a dizzy eyes and start reassigning students to institutions of his choice? including pushing prospective students to private Universities that do pay as high as 3 million naira per academic session. How can he be making such decisions for them? I thought PMB on the pages of newspaper asked all the heads of agencies to go, is he not part of them? Funny Country. 89 Likes 3 Shares |

Adesiji77: Placement of candidate to different universities which were not their first choice, imagine someone getting above 200 and being posted to a college of education to read agric, that's simply inhumane. 22 Likes 1 Share |

I like the explanation given by JAMB director but if students says they are not interested JAMB better reverse it but I pity the students with good grade who will still not secure admission because of excess candidates. 17 Likes |

A Government that listens to the yearnings of the people. Some of you who giving length jargons to defend JAMB, let me ask you if you were posted to Federal University Otuoke instead of University of Lagos that you applied for, how would you feel? A university not even your choice! I am thinking you people are those ones in school back in the day that use to encourage lectures that set exam questions they didn't teach but you will gladly fail. [b]Meanwhile Read this........... 143 millions lines are connected today in Nigeria, more than half of that are making use of the internet service on their Smartphones, PC's and Tablets. Almost all of that average use more than 1 gigabyte worth of data monthly. That is, the normal Johnny on the street probably spends an average of #2000 surfing the web every month and #24,000 yearly. The amount goes higher when you move up a level higher to you and me. What are we doing with the data? Just scrolling through pages, viewing pictures and videos or actually doing something that could boost our financial status. While some people may argue that people just want to buy data to do these, i have no problem with that. But i am aware there is no man on the planet who is comfortable with where he is. Human wants are insatiable, thus the hunger for improvement in every sphere of human nature. If you are one of such persons who has gotten to that point where you just don't feel right being on a Trillion Dollar per month platform which is the internet and not even able to make a single dollar off it, then this is for you. Join fiverr today with your valuable data and start making money working from your living room. Fiverr is the world's foremost website for freelancers selling their skills starting from $5. That is $5 is the basic amount you can start selling a gig but you can have gig extras of upto $100, $200 and you can be making more than $1000, $2000 selling your skill on fiverr every month! For some people this may be too good to be true but it is true and hundreds of thousands are making money off it every day. Get the free fiverr training ebook i have created to help newbie's learn all there is to fiverr and making money from fiverr for free.
