I was thinking? Nigerians are not nice people. If she was really making the kind of money on freelancer.com pr upwork.cpm she could use to buy cars she wouldn't tell anyone.

The money she plans to make is the money she would charge you for helping you open a Payoneer account. that is if she would genuinely do it because fake ones are every where. and again she is not the owner of that car.

I am trying hard not to get distracted, but I think I will answer you. Nigerians are good people with great hearts. You only need to meet the right people to be convinced. I have been working on Freelancer for 4 years now and just last year, i had the urge to help people get to where I am. I opened a thread and taught people how to make money on freelancer. https://www.nairaland.com/1833989/how-make-1000-month-writing That was my first thread. So far by the grace of God, I have trained over 100 people that thread alone and they are making money online today. I am financially comfortable by the grace of God and I don't need to proof anything to anyone.

The Payoneer account opening you are talking about is free and anyone can open an account on it. I don't help people to open accts. I am too busy for that.

You don't have to believe my story, only don't confuse people who are ready to learn here. The more I help people, the more God blesses and lifts me up. I am here to do it again and with God's backing, a lot of people here will be financially comfortable. Watch out for testimonies soon!

Hi guys, we will continue from where we stopped yesterday. I will combine No. 2 and 3 together.

Bids - Tickets to winning projects
When you register as a new freelancer, you will be given a free account which carries 10 bids. Later on, you will need to upgrade to a membership level to get more bids. Here, I will teach you how to quickly maximize your free bids so you can win at least a project. If you are able to win a good project, you can use the money to upgrade to a membership plan and also write tests. If not, you may have to use your money to upgrade.

Maximising your bids
You need to look for small projects you can quickly write and get a review to establish your profile. Don't work for 'content mills'. These are people who will want you to work with them for a long time, with poor payment ($1 for 500 words) and they may not be willing to give you reviews as at when needed. So, here you will look for employers who have 1 - 5 articles to write (even if the payment is low). The competition is fierce though, but not to worry, one of my guys in my first thread taught us how to write winning bids. He said, he could sell eggs to chickens, and I did not believe it at first. I tested the proposal and it worked like a magic. We will use his sample proposal here.

Your goal here is to get little projects that can earn you reviews quickly. Reviews are employer's feed backs on projects. If you handle the project very well, you get positive review, which can assist you to get more projects. If you get negative review, it will not help your profile as no employer wants to hire someone who is not capable. Some of the reasons why employers give negative reviews are:

1. Inability to carry out the instructions of the employer
2. Lack of skill (i.e. you are not trained to handle such jobs)
3. Late submission etc.

It will do you good to avoid all the points listed above. Try as much as possible to please your employer, even if it means going out of your way.

So, this is not the time to play with your bids, keep it safe, it is a ticket to winning projects.

I will continue later in the day (if i am free). I've got to work now! You can ask your questions, I will try as much as possible to answer it. Be determined to succeed and you will!

How to write a winning bid

There are thousands of freelancers competing for jobs and a couple bidding on the same job. How do you stand out from the rest and win the project? There is no basic formula for writing bids because each project is different from one another. However, the proposal written by one of my guy in my first thread will help to distinguish your bid from several others.

Written by INDESTRUCTABLEX:

I really didn't want to do this, but then, life is about giving. This reply is for those having issues bidding. It has worked for me on several occasions as a freelancer and in life.

I can sell an egg to a hen and this is the principle behind it.

First, there are 3 questions every seller tries to answer - Why, How, and What.

Research has shown that people buy things based on emotions. The part of the brain linked to purchase decisions is linked to your emotions. What this means is that no matter how perfect your sales pitch is, you may not sell because you haven't reached a clients emotion.

This is worst on freelancer and fiverr (buyers request). There are several hundreds of people bidding.

Back to Why, How, and What. Most sellers go for what and how, and leave the why. You may get tangible results online but it will be difficult selling offline. An example -

Hello freelancers, I want my website content re written to pass CopyScape.

"Hi, I am a writer with several years of experience in a variety of niches. I am very meticulous, creative, and passionate about my job. I will write 100% error-free, SEO, and CopyScape-passed articles,
Hire me."

Notice that while my bid sounds professional, it only states what I do. There is no why (a little why) or how. The truth is that this is what a lot of bids look like. The next option is for the client to choose based on reviews. So let's rewrite our bid.

"Hello, I know what it feels like having CopyScape flag your contents down. I also know how quality content can transform your website and even ranking on Google. I am passionate about writing and this is what makes the difference. I am a meticulous writer with ample years of experience. My clients are my priority and this is why I research in detail before writing my articles.

I look forward to working with you. Kindly contact me for more details."

Notice that I first tried to connect (Why)
Next I said something about research (How)
And finally What.

That is the correct order on how to sell anything to anyone.

I hope this helps... Contributions are welcome. This is not an ultimate guide.

To the OP. First, I want to commend you for having the zeal and courage, to share how you make money on the Internet and highlighting the needed tools and techniques on achieving that.
But, I want to advice you a little, if that is ok with you.
From my own perspective, I think you made a little error with the title you chose for this topic. For me, you should have removed the "car part". You might not agree with me, but looking at it critically, you will come to realise that, we Nigerians are highly sentimental and sometimes judgmental.
The topic heading should have been something like, " how I make money on etc" or "how to be self employed, writing articles on etc". You can see from my little ideas, how attention is not directed to a car, house or other material possession, but focuses more on how to help others become independent and hopefully, become entrepreneurs.
All In all, I hope my contribution is not misunderstood, but just to contribute my own little idea. Stay blessed and may Almighty God guide you, as you help others.

Hmmm! Thank you so much. I just wanted to use the story inspire people, to make it known that a lot can be achieved online especially on freelancing websites. I think I will follow your advice and make some corrections.

You really didn't need to make these corrections. This is not your main thread. You have a main thread for that. This is just one showing us how we can become successful via freelancer.

All you need to do is to place the link of the other in a very visible place so that people can be redirected to that thread. That's all.

But still, whatever rocks your boat wink

Is there money in your Payoneer card? If there is none, it will not go through. You may have to use your bank's credit card. You can also chat with their support desk, they will tell you what to do.

However, I never said what she wrote was wrong, but how we-Nigerians process information. You will agree with me that, the way I or even you appreciated what she wrote, is not the way others viewed it. Some people have already labelled her a scammer, because she wanted to help.

Hi ladywriter,

After reading your thread yesterday, I registered on freelancer. I participated in two graphic competitions and waited. By almost midnight, I participated in an article writing bid for newbies. I won it, wrote my first two 500-word articles, got paid and received reviews around 2.30am this morning.

The same person just hired me for a 2,400 article which I am working on right now. The pay is not much, I got $1 for the first job and I'm getting $3 for the current job but I took your advice and I am just 'doing charity work' in order to boost my profile.

I will contact you about taking your course. I am particularly interested in eBook writing so I can boost my income level in a very short time.
