Let me write it out. It is positive 6, negative 0, positive 1. In other words. 6 + (-0) + (+1).

If u use it this way u can never get 5..

First u don't just throw away signs and invent the one u fill is good for u and ur solving. note that any sign in front any number, is attached/owns that number.

The question doesn't require a calculator. The part you quoted can be answered with a calculator seeing as you don't get it.

BODMAS doesn't say addition before subtraction. BODMAS says addition and subtraction. They have equal precedence.

You can't answer it beginning to end because then you are not following the rules of BODMAS. You will obviously get a different answer.

generally, I will advice some people ( with respect to those getting 5 as their answer) to go and learn their basis in mathematics first, before u now learn other part of solving mathematics like the bodmas of a thing. ignorance am seeing here is quite worrisome for Nigeria as whole, why won't there be mass failure in Waec mathematics .
