In an article that recently resurfaced, originally published two years ago, a DNA expert said three out of 10 Nigerian men are not the biological fathers of their children. The article no doubt caught the attention of many. And though the authenticity of the statement remains in question, it certainly provoked a conversation, and surely, reactions. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/paternity-fraud-in-nigeria-are-you-your-baby-s-daddy-/216076/ 8 Likes 4 Shares |

ok o In a phone interview with Ventures Africa, Mr. Ayodele Ayodeji of Paternity Test Nigeria said there is one case of paternity fraud out of every four paternity tests conducted at the centre. “I will say one out of four paternity tests turn out negative,” he told me. He also added that people of the South-east – Ibos and South-south – Deltans, patronise the centre more than the people of western Nigeria – the Yorubas. REALLY 11 Likes 2 Shares |

INTROVERT:my Igbo brothers take everything as business and wouldn't want to be duped with another man's child under the pretence of I'm your faithful wife and this is your child in this 21st century where there is a reliable way to find out. 97 Likes 4 Shares |

I also blame this on the ignorance of nigerian men. Nigerian men will only consider paternity test if the baby is an imbe or dwarf :/ 27 Likes 2 Shares |

lols @ paternity fraud Fuckeeen hilarious... I won't agree that Nigerian women are the most unfaithful. Our environment doesn't give us that free-hand and we are family oriented. Paternity fraud is usually the first child, it could happen if the woman has multiple suitors/partners, gets pregnant, and hooks it on the most viable/propitious suitor. *it could also happen when a woman has TTC for quite some time, she might be tempted to explore if the fault is from her or her husband. In Nigeria where every infertility issue is a woman's fault_ we can't blame her much for her extensive research. I don't support it though. I have stayed in most parts of this country and can tell you that infidelity is everywhere but the rate of marital infidelity I see in the south west is so alarming. I need not tell stories but can only say that in such a place, such tests would not be out of place if made compulsory. 22 Likes |
