A lot of people who have a long distance relationship will often tell you that they seem to occasionally get absent minded. Most people who have been in long distance courtships or relationships will tell you that it is nerve cracking because he/she is in love with someone who is not physically around most of the time.

There are different reasons why partners will be engaged and separated. This could be due to both partners schooling, job hunting or working at different locations.

It is not advisable for people in a relationship to live in different cities as their relationship could be disappointing at the end for various reasons:

It is so much easier to know if you are compatible with the guy or lady you want to get married to if you live within the same city. During your dates, visits or outings, you get to know the person’s disposition toward certain personal or social issues. You will also know the person’s weaknesses and strengths. You can know a guy who has some form of body odor or a lady who is naturally unkempt from a few interactions. There are certain things you may never notice if both of you talk on the phone all the time.

You can actually know if your fiance or fiancee is polite or rude from the remarks he/she makes at other people. Some people are easily irritated at the slightest provocation while for others, it is not so. You will easily know if your date is bossy or gentle, nagging or understanding.

You will also notice if your fiance/fiancee respects you or tolerates you if you live within the same city. During some unscheduled visits, you get to know if your close association upsets him/her. Some people seem to get so irritated when a fiance/fiancee hangs around them all the time.

It is also possible to know by your frequent association or visits if your fiance/fiancee really wants to get married to you or he/she just wants to use you and dump you. Some people are just self-made leaches especially when they need something desperately from you.

You can also know from your association if both of you enjoy each others conversation. Some people get to talk about who they are, what they like or what they want to achieve without considering the other person all the time.

If you must be in a long distance relationship, you need to make out time with your partner to interact and get to know each other better.
