Ralphlauren:

visa applications require planning. your salary/current account is the most suitable for any application but it should at least have some decent balance.

you should have built up the balance in your current/salary account few months before you applied. rather than stashing money away in your savings account, you should have either left it in your current account or transferred money from your savings account to your current account in random transfers. say 50k this week, another 100k the following month, etc.

had it been you had about 500k balance in your current account and you had included that of your husband, your application might have stood a better chance.

that 54k balance doesnt cut it at all. enough to 'piss' any ECO off and just write you off as an 'unserious' applicant.

Noted. Thnx, will just do that and wait till nextyear or future........ to reapply, gotten enuf info 4rm this forum.

Good day

I recently won a masters scholarship to study in a skul in the UK. Five yrs ago, I was denied visa wen I wanted to attend the graduation of my cousin due to insufficient ties to Nigeria and bank statement errors.
Now,while filling d form online, there wasn't enough space to write out al d reasons for denial of visa den, so I was advised to write insufficient ties to Nigeria since d new scholarship doesn't need my personal bank statement...pls I hope, it isn't withdrawal of info...
Also, I was advised earlier on not to seek for accomodation in the skul because it is expensive, so I intend seeking for accomodation outside the campus. So if asked about where I intend staying in the UK, wat do u tink I shud tel dem at d visa office...

Lastly, I rounded up my Nigerian masters programme( did project defense)...but nt yet given certificate/statement of result to back it up...so if asked that wat av I bin doing since graduation, should I tel dem I just finished my masters programme... won't dey ask for documents to back it up...pls am eager for genuine answer...thanks

@ Poster, It is good to include your salary account irrespective of what the balance is, it is just to show that your are connected to that organisation after all, you are not the one paying for the trip. Ensure you indicate you available for the trip as provided by the organisation and when it gets to a section where you are being asked, who is paying for this trip, put your organisation.

I had less than that in my account when I applied but my organisation provided all the papers for my visa and £2,047 for my trip including DSA. You are good to go. Don't forget to include photographs that shows your personality professional wise, be it meetings, delivering lectures, installations and sort of. I wish you all the best. Justwise was my guide during my application and my visa came quicker than expected. Just 5 days.

Bros, just stick to information earlier provided because they have it in their database. I don't think your parent DOB is a material fact to your application unless you are submitting a paper that has your parent DOB on it. Do they know when my parents were born. It is what you tell them that they will know, just be consistent with the information you are giving them.

Thanks for your response, She earns 200k monthly and she's the head of Good women in a church in Nigeria, she has a balance of like 450-500 thereabout, and I told her to get a introduction & leave letter from work and also an introduction letter from her church, she's gonna book the cheapest air flight and have 200 pounds as cost of living, since the church has promised to care for her welbeing..what do u think?

Then to spend £1,400 in few weeks on that salary is just over the top, that did not help your application at all

Thats why i said yesterday that the lower the amount one budget for a trip the better cos this budget will be compared to how much you earn

Good morning all.

Please I am new to this thread but from the information I have scanned through I want to commend you all for setting up this platform to guide people like me. Please @Justwise and all the good contributors and pple of the thread, I am in urgent need of help and guidance for my aunty.
My aunty applied for a tourist visa in May and was denied. the reasons given are stated below

1.You are a first time visitor in the Uk and stated that the purpose of your trip is to visit your cousin. However ur application does not provide any evidence to suggest that you are related as claimed or of any contact between you.lack of such evidence leads me to doubt you are a genuine sponsor.
2. You have indicated that you are a teacher with ..... earning .... You have submitted photocopies of Bank Statement and letter from a cooperative (...)indicating that you received large deposit of N1m into your acct. while these are photocopies of the original there is the possibility that during the copying process changes may have been made, such as to amend names, addresses and dates.Consequently in the absence of original documents, these copied documents that you have submitted are of little evidential value. I am therefore not convinced that you have satisfactorily evidenced ur earnings and financial circumstances.
3.The above circumstances undermine the overall credibility of the application to the extent that d balance of probability I am not satisfied that your circumstances are as ..........

Please note that she submitted payslips, bank statement and letter from her cooperative and the state govt where she teaches. All these were original copies.

Please how does she respond to this. she want to submit the application today/tmrw to enable her do biometrics on monday.

I appreciate ur advise n contributions in advance.

Can you list those documents she is submitting now?
