africaken: It has turned out pretty well. However, sustainance of the Igirigi programme depends primarily on Government patronage. Federal Government selling the rights of the vehicle to other Nigerian Auto manufactures seems like the only viable option for sustaining and improving upon the programme. |

SA Flyer Photographer Justin de Reuck spent the weekend up in Namibia covering the first airshow that the country has seen in 20 years. The show was a resounding success. Here a Namibian Air Force Chengdu F-7NM (The Chinese variation of the Russian Mig 21) performs a flypast for the crowd. — at Hosea Kutako International Airport Took this from Flyer International SA or something like that

africaken: Ergh.... Equipment dirbbiling in here and there will be more of a curse than a blessing Maintaining a couple dozen RG32 here, and some Casspir there, and some Maxxpro's overthere is going to be nearly impossible for an army with allmost no support capacity. Most of them will end up being Hangar queens or getting cannibalized A whole span of Casspir 2000's (which us a chassis and engine from the Ural series of trucks) or a hundred or so buffel/UniBuffel (Unimog chassis and engine) would be much better... not as flashy, but low-tech with parts commonality and veery common parts is better for such a young military I guess beggars cant be choosers though What happened to the left overs of the Somali National Army (1980's) equipment... most of it is supposedly abandoned... are efforts being made to reclaim and reactivate that equipment? 1 Like

Apparently the Egyptian Army also got Reva MK3 MRAPs from South-Africa. 3rd Photo is an Egyptian LAV similar to the Cougar or Proforce MK 2 deployed by the Egyptian army.
