The Venue for this match had been a centre of different opinion as it was earlier reported that The Rivers. State government had approved the New Amesiamaka stadium to host the Double header slated for today, however a report from the LMC's Chairman Mr. Shehu Dikko put the speculation to rest as it has now been confirmed to be played @ the sharks stadium

"Gentlemen, the match will be taking place at the Sharks stadium. But please not that LMC don't chose match venues for clubs but rather approve venues recommended by clubs. The mix -up in this case is that the RSGovt, the owners of sharks and sponsors of Dolphins suggested that the home matches for the two clubs be moved to the new stadium built and owned by the state so as to make it operational. Accordingly, for obvious reasons, the LMC scheduled the matches at the new stadium as well as the double header live on TV so as to make it a befitting first NPFL matches at the new stadium. All set and the broadcast partners ready but suddenly the two clubs turned up to request that the proposed movement to the new stadium be postponed to another date as they were not ready because they require to put some firm arrangements involving cost and approvals to be able to move to the new stadium which has not been completed. Thus the LMC has no option than to accede to this request since it arrived within the time period stipulate in the rule book for change of venue request. Hence sharks stadium was approved"
