Its a bit long.

Experts say that just about every man who can masturbate does, that solo sex feels good, relieves stress, and is a terrific sleep aid. But still, nearly all books about sex produced by the medical doctors, psychiatrists and others from the purely physical approach assert that masturbation is not harmful. They ARE WRONG! On the one hand, many boys have been told, falsely, that masturbation causes insanity, loss of virility, sterility, pimples, etc. this also is not true. Scaring boys with lies is not the thing to do. On the other hand, masturbation is a form of perversion.

This write up is an attempt an attempt at discussing the act of masturbation as it affects different aspects of our lives.

Health
Unlike sex with a partner, masturbation can’t give you a sexually transmitted disease. Nor will it subject you to the muscle strains, pokes in the eye, and awkward moments that can come with partner sex. But masturbation safety isn’t guaranteed. Frequent or overly vigorous masturbation can irritate the skin of the penis, as the average guy knows all too well. In certain extremely rare instances, masturbation and partner sex alike can cause penile fracture. This painful condition occurs when an erect penis strikes a hard object or is forced downward. Hard-ons may also be affected by masturbation as well. After each ejaculation, the firmness of the next erection may get slightly softer and spongier, depending on how close apart the erections are.

There’s little evidence that too many masturbating sessions will affect erection in the future, but there’s a wealth of evidence that points to age, diet, smoking, and cardiovascular health as factors that affect your beat-meat getting stiff. Another side effect of masturbation is abrasions or swelling of the penis. Some people have rough hands, use vigorous strokes, or don’t use lube. Ouch!

Relationships
For various reasons, solo sex (masturbation) can be a real boon to sex with a partner. It helps teach men and women about their own sexual responses, what feels good to them and what doesn’t, so they will be better able to explain to their partners just how they like to be touched. It helps men learn to recognize the “moment of inevitability” just before orgasm and helps teach them how to avoid premature ejaculation. Perhaps most significant, it’s a great coping mechanism for any man or woman whose partner is temporarily unavailable for sex (because of absence or illness) or has a sex drive that doesn’t quite match their own. But of course, some people become so obsessed with solo sex that they begin to lose interest in having sex with their partner. The resulting hurt feelings and alienation a partner feels can make it hard to sustain the relationship. But experts are quick to point out that masturbation is perfectly OK even for persons in a committed relationship.

Sense of worth
Masturbation can have a negative psychological impact on a person. Many people feel shame and guilt because of their masturbation habits. Whether it’s a cultural, religious or moral issue, people can be very hard on themselves. The tug of war between what feels natural and pleasurable versus what they were told to refrain from can have lasting harmful effects on a person’s self-esteem, confidence and self-love. Psychosomatic effects can also occur, where physical symptoms are the result of psychological factors (feeling shame, guilt, anxiety can manifest into things like headaches, back pain, chronic pain, etc.). Also it does harm the boy (or the man) physically; often a boy will experience absentminded proclivities following masturbation. The mind is on self-on-sex not a lovely wife. Invariably it produces a guilty conscience, and destroys normal confidence.

Religion
Sex is God’s invention. He is the mastermind behind it and His creation is worth far more to Him than it is to us. This beautiful expression of love was created out of His own heart, as a gift to be experienced between a husband and wife. It is only in marriage that this manifestation of intimacy can be fully enjoyed in the depth for which it was created. The more beautiful and unique something is (like sexual intercourse), the more power it holds over our lives, either for good or bad influence. When we become more in love with the gift than the one who endowed them, the things that were designed to bless us begin to destroy us instead. Yes, God cares about what we do with our bodies, in public or in private. He doesn’t want us to abuse our-selves in any way. You might now want to define masturbation as “self-abuse”

1 Corinthians 6:18 (NIV) confirms this, saying that unlawful sexual relations defile our own bodies. “Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sin against own body.”

When sex is expressed in any other way, it robs one of a portion of that blissful, delightful and truly wonderful God-ordained experience. Remember love is giving – an outgoing concern—as well as sharing. Masturbation is neither. Masturbation is either plain lust, or else a desire to relief. But God provided for relief, through the means of nocturnal emission during sleep.

Who Does It
When you talk about masturbation, fingers are quickly pointed to the male folks. It is a perversion practiced by girls and grown women also. The difference in sex is only relative. A higher percentage of males practice it, but more females are guilty of it than commonly realized. Most boys and many girls get into the habit of masturbation at an age so young they simply cannot remember its beginning after growing up. A nasty habit, often almost impossible to break… this is where the parent comes in. The parent should be constantly on guard. Treat it, in infancy, in the same category as thumb-sucking, or putting a finger in his nose. Teach the child that he should not play with parts of the body. Do not frighten him. Do not lie to him. Just tell him his thumb, or his penis, or his nose, was given him for a different purpose and he must not misuse it. And remember such teachings should be backed up with discipline and punishment if necessary! It is a serious parental responsibility!
