Nihilist: Jimmy Saville's reign of rape was started in the 60's and spanned over 50 years, so the 589 rapes/molestation are not so impressive. And his case was unusual as he was 1) a rich celeb and 2) had access to young children in the NHS. I was actually in the UK during the height of the scandal in 2012/2013. I dont know much about your rotterham rape gang. So I can not say much I never said that rape didnt happen in the UK. I clearly said that rape of minors in the EU is relatively rare- people know that it is difficult to get away with such. Nihilist: I dont need my blog to blow to make money. I write for other magazines. This is how I know that you are a beggar in the UK. Everything is about money for you. Oh, and Nihilist if only you knew who I am.......we used to be good friends. The only reason why I keep trolling you, So don't think you are special. |

freecocoa:Haven't heard of it. If it ever happened, it might have been a sex-starved old man in action. You can't live by the Niger and wash your hands with spittle na. Sure we have other problems, but paedophilia is not one of them. |

freecocoa:There are different kinds of 'old men' that are worth sleeping with. He might not have been in that category... Abi do women sleep with everything they see? Our customs, tradition and common sense doesn't allow any room for paedophilia. |

I think part of the problem is that the offenders would always find a way to justify their actions by blaming the victim. They would say the woman was dressed 'indecently' or that 'children these days know too much'. It's pathetic. Not to mention the shame put on victims of sexual violence is used to silence them, so their abusers aren't brought to book. 2 Likes |

cococandy:Nigerians, the whole freaking populace need to be schooled on empathy. I like the idea behind this discussion. I also understand that the younger ones are more vulnerable than we are. But I'd like emphasis to be spread evenly. Too many psychologically and emotionally damaged women maketh not good mentors or good guardians to these youngsters. Pls its important not to buy into the narrative that grown ass women are to blame for the rape that happens to them. Dressing is subjective. No human should be constrained by the wants or needs of another except consent is granted or there is a mutual agreement. Yesterday I wore a skinny jean, a long sweater and a grey veil around my head. Yet I still had men ogling and whistling "sister you no go come my shop come greet me". If there is anything to be done, I would like to help. p.s men also get molested too. Let's fight this together. 5 Likes 3 Shares |

Nihilist: I now know why AllNaijaBlogger doesn't like your comments. Your lie down and die tone is grating. This thread is for proffering functional ways of curbing rape, apprehending rapists and providing any and all support to rape victims. Your comment has not said anything that victims have not been doing for years. in fact if a victim were to read your comments, their depression and revulsion with themselves may reach rock bottom. Unlike you Mr Britain, we live with realities of these vice, and unlike you we continually live with consequences of both the vice and the failed infrastructure that could have help curb it. You're not forced to participate so shove all your negativity where the sun don't shine. Till you have something productive to add to this thread, I politely suggest you desist from commenting. 4 Likes 1 Share |

in my own understanding, dressing plays a major role among d adult(a dress can be decent, also a dress can be naughty) The use of an online database system to check if your collegues, neighbours, friends nd relatives s a rapist will mk the enivornment save for our children, adults etc. Furthermore, every rape must be reported to d approipate authority( to get punished nd get their names nd details registered) online) |

Freemanan:bro, you angle of objectivity is damn too narrow, not covering other people affected such as 10,8, 12. Even 2 year old kids that are r+a+p+e+d. Do you want to say that these ones dress indecently? Or haven't you been seeing all the r-*a+p+.e news involving minors on front page of nairaland? Or do these kids walk around n+a-k-e+d that made oldies in their 50s-70s rape them? Come on, you are more intelligent than this and therefore you should seen what standd was driving at... Or her perception of the overall case. Your stance and failure to attack this issue more objectively and broadly made you appear biased towards the female gender. Not cool, man. 3 Likes |

MarieSucre: Where do these maggots keep crawling out from? Have YOU posted anything productive on the thread? Have YOU picked any of the points I raised and constructively countered them? Why is my opinion grating to YOU? The reason why you can agree with someone who has continued unprovoked personal attacks on my person, is because you too incapable of rational thinking and logical conclusion. You need to curl up into a ball somewhere and just die cos Nihilist does not give two about you or your merry gang of _idiots #ignored. |

standd: I don't believe in cutting down unwanted trees as much as in rooting them out. That said, it is expedient that we address the root cause of the matter, which is the rapist or paedophile or whatever fancy name they are called. It is said that everybody has a drop of greatness in them. Likewise everybody has a drop of villainy in them. ... of çourse, everyone is a potential rapist/paedophile etc The problem today is because of the activation of this potential, and the alarming rate at which it has increased... To solve this problem, we need to stop/annihilate/eradicate the activation of the rape potential. We can achieve this with the help of an activated rapist/paedo... We have them here on Nairaland. They should volunteer for this great cause. If no one does, then I, myself, will volunteer. But I must warn you, my rape potential is 0. (zero to ñothingness) 1 Like |
