Hello people, well done to everyone that has been contributing to this thread to make it a success, please justwise and the rest dunno if this has been treated before if so maybe a page reference will do, am a medical student here in Nigeria 2nd yr and I have a friend in Scotland (she is Scottish and married with children) she wants to invite me over but both of us really don't know the process or processes involved, please any useful information would be appreciated. Yea, it's been treated. Have you read some pages back? I know the person needs to send you an invitation, copy of house tenancy abi mortage receipt, account stmt, passport biodata page. Then for you copy of admission letter, doc showing your course start and finish dates, letter of approval from ur parents, ur acct statement, intl passport, photo passport... these re more like it, not accurate. Let's wait for the gurus in the house. I don't know ur age. Is ur sponsor footing all the bills? Pronmix: |

Yea, too general. An alternative Justicia; someone applied for d spouse and kid jus recently, they were granted visa. if u can read some pages back (not too far) you will see the person am talking about. Then u can send a PM to get full info. Although it's best u read the thread to learn about people's experiences and not to make avoidable mistakes. Vicjustice: |

You shud even start by stating the exact reasons for d refusals, what has changed since then? Then whats ur income like, are u going wt wife and kid or....? Bcoz of d financial burden. I really feel for you, you MUST get ur application right this time. Reading this thread is an eye-opener too. tay0: |

iblaw: Good Evening, apologies for the delayed response I work nights and sleep in the day, back at work now I have only ever used Virgin, BA and Alitalia, tis will be my first time using Iberia and the stop over in Madrid is about 2hours but going out is less than 2 hours, it all depends which flight you select. Bare in mind delays can be for a number of reasons, so may not necessarily be a common occurrence for one airline in particular, unless its Malaysian airlines which get delayed indefinitely I flew with Virgin to Lagos and on my return flight we had a delayed departure due to storms. When I search for flights I use www.skyscanner.net http://www.skyscanner.net/transport/flights/los/lond/150915/150930/airfares-from-lagos-to-london-in-september-2015.html?adults=1&children=0&infants=0&cabinclass=economy&rtn=1&preferdirects=false&outboundaltsenabled=false&inboundaltsenabled=false KLM and Air France are one group so you will find that many KLM flights are operated by Air France and vise versa September is not the cheapest but I would advise looking on Skyscanner or Opodo please note this very important fact... Try not searching the same dates too often, this will show the airline that those dates are in hi demand and they will hike up the prices... as I have to advise my clients when they are just browsing... Availability and prices are not guaranteed until ticketed and the flight itineraries may be operated by partner carriers Happy searching |

iblaw: £614.72 converted to NGN is approx 191,286.99 with an exchange rate of 311.182 from XE.com this was the cheapest with the least amount of traveling times

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 9:42am On Aug 03, 2015 |
molly14:She can do everything whilst in the UK. As a 10 years multi-entry clearance permit holder, she doesn't need to go to the embassy for student visa application, she can either apply for the school's admission online or whilst in the UK: all she has to do is to travel to the UK (and go to the iimmigration authority) to apply for the permission to stay longer than the regulated 6 months-per-visit rule on student ground. As for the little ones who are American citizens, they can travel with her without visas, and if their mother gets the school's admission, and she gets the clearance to study, then, the children will be granted same permissions to remain in the UK with her. |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Ralphlauren(m): 10:46am On Aug 03, 2015 |
molly14: take that advice at your own peril. people on visitor's visa (irrespective of the validity of the visa - whether 6months or 10 years) are not allowed to school , work or switch to another category whilst in the country. doing so will just be a waste of time because your application will be outrightly refused, the application fee will not refunded and it will go down on your records that you tried breaking the conditions attached to the visitor visa. she has to go through the student visa route just like everyone else and apply from nigeria and she has to fulfil all requirements. there is a serious clampdown on student visas and even before the searchlight was beamed on this category, you cannot switch from visiting to student visa whilst in the country. (this was stopped over 10years ago if not more) holding a 10years visa makes you no more 'special' than a person with 6months. the conditions remain the same - no work, no school and no recourse to public funds). the only difference between you two is that you've built a clean record over the years (by travelling often and sticking to the terms of your previous 6months, 2years and 5years visa) and you can afford to pay the 10years visa fee. 8 Likes 1 Share |

molly14: I have to disagree with vicjustice on this Your sister needs student visa (Tier 4) and she needs to apply for dependant visa for her kids, yes her kids are American citizens but that does not guarantee them a stay in the UK beyond 90days. Your sister's course will last 12 months plus. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

justwise: Oh kk,I've told her, but she wants to know if the 5years will be cancelled. I told her no, cos t doesn't make sense to do but, but all d same m asking, will they cancel her 5 years Visa?. One more thing, @raulphL mentioned applying from Nigeria, she has moved out of Nigeria to France for almost 2years now, so how will the application work, will she need to come to Nigeria back. She's temporarily living in France. |

Ralphlauren & justwise. Thanks for putting that right. You guys live in the UK. I am actually aware of the rules, and to be honest, i'm more familiar with the short terms visas, and i must admit that i was of the opinion that (like the privileges associated with Irish long-term visas,) the UK 10 years visa also goes with special privileges. My bad... 6 Likes |

Good evening Thanks to all the contributors in the house. Please I would like to know if there is a separate thread for tier 2 visa? If I'm applying for a tier 2 dependant visa, mist the dependant be my blood relation. I have a distant relative, a half orphan living with me and my family. I would like to add her to my dependant in my application for tier 2 visa. What documents do I need to submit for her. |

beibybookie: Thanks so much for this info. I'm thinking of applying for d visa this month. considering wat i've read on this thread, is it compulsory for one to also have a large sum of money in one's account before the UK work visa can be approved? I just started working this month, so I'm sceptical about d visa issue, mayb it will b approved or not cos I don't just want to waste the little cash I have. Pls I need your advice on this. |
