Sometimes researching about the company saves you a lot of headache . If its a popular organisatioon Just go to http://www.glassdoor.com/index.htm and read reviews and stuffs, I once remembered one organisation poaching me once, their packaging too much that i thought they will be offering me some crazy money, i went for interview passed and then it comes to negotiation and when i heared how much they were planning to pay, i just said no then i went to search for them online then i got very bad reviews i was like i should have done this before nw

This is a defeatist approach. Things have since changed. My last (at least) three jobs were given to me purely on merit. I knew no one and at least on two of those occasions, it was through head-hunting using LinkedIn.

Stop discouraging potential job hunters.

Perhaps at a much lower level your views may be correct but even then, no sane employer wants a staff that will not impact positively on the fortunes of the company. If beauty and effizzy are chosen as the yardsticks then it is because that company is in a line of business that requires those qualities to excel.
