This is to serve as a warning to car buyers looking for too good to be true deals. I have been receiving series of calls lately on a 2009 Toyota Camry I posted for sale on Nairaland 2 months ago asking whether its still available for sale and offering ridiculous prices. https://www.nairaland.com/2308234/s-o-l-d....tomato-red-tin-can-cleared-2009 One of the callers was bold enough to ask me questions about the Vehicle that her cousin is about to make a #450,000, but on a second taught decided to contact me. The not so smart fraudster didn't notice my contact number was on my cheki billboard from one of the pictures he sent to all his intending mugu {picture attached}. I think it's time dealers watermark their pictures online to avoid picture theft. To you all greedy buyers looking for cheap cars out there, don't fall for any custom auction car scam. This is a well-perpetrated scam with links to convince greedy buyers. mmrius: It takes a genius not to fall for such scam. If you google Nigerian custom car auction those 2 links will be displayed. Such a link should have been brought down from Internet long ago. |

If it's too good to be true, wallahi it DEFINITELY is.... I can never buy a car unless I go there, inspect it, check the engine, lights, start the car, drive it for some time, notice a CEL, thermostat, constant fan, cranky noise, then get a good auto Mech to double check the car..... That's how I bought all my cars, and I've never regretted... 1 Like |
