Not you, some Employers are just like that....I don't know what they gain from it....same with a guy from Canada....I told him times without number to before he released the milestones and he said no problem.....up till now, he won't even acknowledge my message even though he is online.

Its annoying because reviews are one of the things that make you grow on FL

Good to see folks capitalizing on the internet and outsourcing.

I have quietly been doing this for 10 years, even before freelancer gulped up most of it's competitors: scriptlance & vworker.

I should also mention elance.com to you guys.

I am on freelancer and elance...though not a "writer," I am a programmer.

There is also guru.com

From my (vast) experience, it is good to build profiles and reputation on multiple platforms.

These freelance sites tend to sometimes be very autocratic and they can do funny stuff to you at any point in time.

If you are just locked into one, that can be very disastrous to your livelihood...

3. Place your bids
4. Get picked by the employer
5. Get paid
6. Withdraw your income into payoneer card (Please do not use Paypal, as it is not yet legal to withdraw into Paypal acct, you can only use it to make payment online for now). Payoneer card is better and safe).
7. Withdraw your money from any mastercard ATM in Nigeria.

wow! i can observe that you are very passionate about freelancing. well, i started freelancing on freelancer, a month ago. And since then i have been making nothing less than $400 per month. Well, there is nothing special about me, as my niches are Academic writing, report writing articles, data entry, transcribing, anything goes, and the like. but my approaches are quite different from a number of freelancers. let me share some of my strategies, perhaps you can learn from them

1. i don't bid during the day ...i usually stay online from 7 p.m to 5.am, but i usually get lucrative jobs btw 11 pm and 4 a.m
2. i don't bid on jobs from these countries: india, bangladesh, pakistan, or any poor asians countries..my reasons are not far fetched: they don't pay well, and they are inconsiderate set of people: they give you more work, less money, and sometimes no reviews. my target countries are U.S, U.K. SINGAPORE, AUSTRALIA, GERMANY AND ANY OTHER DEVELOPED COUNTRIES
3. i always write customised proposal before i bid on any job. most of my employers often tell me that they like my proposal
4. the price of my bids for any project is very cheap.. this is because i am still a fledgling, but i usually increase my price when some of the employers want to hire me.
5. from my experience, the hardest job earns me less money, while the easiest job earns me more dollars. i had converted 2 word document to PDF, just using a software (15 minutes job) for $50. Also, i had done a job that took me 10 hours for $10
6. the last is my perseverance, my dear, this job needs some patience and perseverance, just keep pushing, if you are really passionate about what you are doing, you will get there soon

You will need a domiciliary account to be able to withdraw to your GTB bank acct. You cannot withdraw to your mastercard. Sign up for a payoneer card instead.

Me i opened, an account with USA flag there. I want to know if theres any risk involved with it. Can i still withdraw my money with my payoneer card? Wont they detect that im a naija guy? So that my dollars will not be hanging. Anybody in my shoe here?

This is what I have been saying countless times on this thread. Be who you are. Use your country's flag. Now you are hooked. Freelancer will verify your data thoroughly before you can make withdrawals and if they detect you are using a fake flag, your account may be suspended. My advice is, edit your data to your real address. I don't know if that will be easy to do, because they lock addresses now (at least mine is locked) and if you want to change it, you will need to contact the support desk to show evidences that the address is yours. May God help you!

Permit me to teach you a wise thing. It is true what Ladywriter said about being yourself but often times it doesn't work with our bad image. I opened a native flag account and it has been working wonders somehow Because in my discipline, no one will trust me with their work if I'm not native. After been awarded works, I discovered that I'm ten times better than these natives. Many of them be "olodo" but because of my flag, I'm a stereotype. Let me use my foreign flag. I only see it as my Transnational identity. I don't bid on projects I'm not able to handle. After finalizing projects awarded, they end up with "waoh...this is awesome" but if they really know who I am, will they even consider me? This is an online forum...send me a PM...I will teach you one wisdom. I'm yet to withdraw my earnings too but there is a flaw in FL policies which they should think of. What if I'm an immigrant travelling to and fro and i opened in a foreign land only to come back home? I'm the patient one, and my patience will outrun theirs.

Lol.....mine is almost same as yours sha....i use MTN here coz it is good. Glo no get 3G here.....Even at home, i suffered from Glo's hand at first. That's why when i withdraw in few weeks time.....I will see if I can get a tablet just for monitoring bids...Laptops consume data like goat wey dey eat beans

its not my fault because naija flag no pure ni and man must survive in Nigeria. The solution is how do i withdraw money without them noticing that i am from nigeria. Maybe i will not use my payoneer card. The account brings more dollars than naija own na.
