Need advice on how to handle senior student most especially SS2 student, am taking them mathematics and further maths.
that's the only class am having a chanlleneges on.
Also what other teaching method can i apply too have an effective teaching?
Set rules and regulations from the onset. Next time you enter the class and someone makes a noise do no hesitate to either send the student out of the class, give a stern warning or punish the student-squatting for 15minutes(depending on the school punishment policy). Be in control of the class. Mathematics teacher are known to be disciplinarians.

The Labour market is very competitive. Every interview should be like you are being interviewed for a super lucrative job.
Bring your A game, do not give room for errors and most importantly prepare.
Have a very good day.

Correct!!!

When u say "handle them", how do u mean?? Do u mean they are noisy or make rude remarks?? State the problem exactly to enable peeps profer possible solutions..
Also u ask "what other teaching method" without stating d particular teaching method u r using.
Do clarify ur request n I am sure peeps here are more dan able to do justice to it.
Well for d teaching methods, one of d methods u can use is using brain teasers..give dem brain teasers on math for the to solve in groups or even take home..n they will hav something to look forward to in ur class..also u may try some funny maths tricks jus to build their interest..u can get lots of videos on those from you tube. There are so many methods u can use to build their interest.. But most importantly I want to believe your school dint schedule maths for afternoon in their time-table.. Maths is best early morn when their brains are cool n relaxed.

They are feasible o!!!! I remember back then when I sent an unsolicited mail to those mail addresses, I got three invites. Why do you think I quote some of them? Some of this schools no longer advertise because they have many cv's with them. I remember being called by one of the school asking if I was gainfully employed.
So, my dear* in avicky's voice* take the advise and job here seriously.
ancashy:
thanks, please I checked previous posts,still nothing,just some old posts that are no longer feasible,any help would be appreciated. Thanks again

Sorry I see u later stated that they talk while you are teaching. For that as a new teacher , ur first impression matters. Give them ur rules like someone earlier said. N put ur foot down when someone disturbs ur class ,u can ask d person to stand up n come stand near u or something...

Answer the following;
1. What type of challenge?;
2. What do you mean by "handle senior students?";
3. What method of teaching are you using currently?
Provide answers to the above questions.
In Manie's voice *I may be a bit of an old school, but let "us" desist from poor written English, it is "I" and not "i".*
In xtfield's voice, *work on your written English, my students are complaining*.

I need to share this experience with the house.

Those of you sitting in the comfort of your house looking for job had better hit the street and start sharing the cv's and credentials. Go out there with copies and start submission.
I set out this morning with about 7 envelopes of application, rejoicing that have done much and will definitely be hooked within weeks cause am so sure of myself. But, my happiness and sense of accomplishments went south when i saw a young man with about 2 dozens of envelope filled with application letters. I addressed him as a postman in order to ask for a school address only to be stunned when he said he was going there as well to submit application and i was like 'whao, you are a good postman'. He explained his plights and why he intend changing school and we exchanged contacts for assistance cause its a new environment for me.
I quickly hit a store, got more envelopes, more photocopies and join the mission. Funny? That's the truth, we're in the season of transfer.
Having an interview tomorrow and the next.
NO TIME.....NO DULLING.
A wonderful day to u all.
Ah!!!! Deputy head teacher they find work....... Indeed, the labour market is very competitive.

A teacher must know when to "laugh" with students and when to be strict~especially in class. Actually, they expect u to be strict but will try u to know ur reaction.
I play with my students atimes outside d class but in the class, they know i dont take nonsense. even the noisiest of them knows me.
if u make noise, i wud stand idle 4 over 3 minutes looking emotionlessly at u, then i'd ask u to continue. it totally discomforts them.

You should be able to handle economic.
My advise, read definition of Economics, wants, needs and opportunity cost.
Demand and supply
Factors of production and lay your hands on the last NECO and WAEC questions in Economics.
For micro-teaching.....pick a topic your are very familiar with and know like the back of your palm.

*drawing his ear* feedback.
Congratulations in advance.
