Please go ahead, should be easy for you since you were honest last year and ended up not going. Just book his own appointment and have your usual proof ready - plus explanation on why you couldn't go again. If not personal, can you please share why you didn't go again? Passport in your maiden name is fine. A very long time ago - 10yrs a friend going with a toddler was asked to come with proof of being the mother. So you can take the birth certificate, if your name is your current name there, include advert for change of name and marriage certificate, if you have preggy pictures, naming pictures, newborn and other family photos, please take them along too, they may want to sight them. mrsoje: 3 Likes |

It depends - did they ask you expressly if you were pregnant and intending to seek medical services and you said 'no' Or they didn't ask and you didn't tell? If this or drop box which was exactly my case last year, I sent the change of intent letter and no hassles at POE. If you said no despite being yes, it may or may not backfire - either at POE or if you send a change of intent email. Do you intend to declare your intentions at point of entry? It has worked perfectly for some people either way, but our recommendation here is always to be honest, even if one wasn't in the past. Let's wait to get other people's view. bukoiela: 2 Likes |

There is no US certified VO here, reading through the thread is what everyone else do & will help you with your child's application.& is it a son or a daughter. 1 Like

bukoiela: Hello, I asked the VO that answers questions here on nairaland travel section and s/he replied that you don't need to inform them just make sure that you clear your bills, still went ahead and emailed the consulate and they said my wife need not write them as using a visit visa for childbirth is still in order, they just informed me on how expensive child birth/health care is in America and that I should get a hospital before she gets there and also she should settle all her bills. I have both replies 3 Likes |

agriboom: This up here will not work for chicago poe, I can stake money I haven't even made on that premise.. Do not attempt chicago poe (or houston) if the embassy isn't aware, it could be at the interview level or at the letter of intent level, just have it on record .. .. My 2k. 5 Likes |

I have a feeling agents now open accounts to ask questions for their clients Either Looking for a packaged lie Or looking for a way out after a lie Seriously I don't get all these small small lies in d name of asking questions The worse is they are coming in numbers one question after another just visa related New nairaland accounts or dormant nairaland accounts REMEMBER VISA JUST GETS YOU TO THE POE, IT DOESNT NECESSARILY ADMITS ANYONE. 8 Likes |

lizzylilly:@ lizzylilly, in my honest opinion, i don't think your finances had any link to your visa denial or approval. In your initial post, you said your hubby had businesses in South Africa and perhaps stays there. You also have a resident permit there. You also stated you have businesses is it in SA as well? I have seen housewives with zero income being granted visas for childbirth and vacation. The VO's mostly look out for TIES that will bring you back to your country either family, economic or social ties. My question is what ties do you have in Nigeria? Businesses can be conducted from anywhere so that is not sufficient ties my dear. In my case, my finances weren't checked nor asked and besides my hubby was my sponsor and at the time of my interview, he barely had 1mil in his account statement but he had a good cash flow. What the VO saw was how my kids scribbled on my passport and he showed me laughing and asked why I wasn't travelling with them. My advise is this; focus more on your ties in Naija in your next interview, get a good and affordable hospital and above all Pray to God for favour. Your account statement is good but that may not guarantee you visa. Good luck 3 Likes |

yemmyfinest: First of all, congratulations on your visa. Secondly, as you are due next year, you have LOADS of time to read through both part 1 and part 2 of this thread. All you require is written there, people's experience at POE, their concerns with when to buy cheap flight tickets, tvegas breakdown of how to give birth in USA , etc. So please read. 6 Likes |

yemmyfinest: Your question was buried in the statement. It's not necessary to inform the embassy of your "new intentions", however there is no damage done if you just send an email to update the embassy of your status, and this will be proof for you just in case at POE. The most important thing is to have enough funds to cover your bills after giving birth. I believe you have a 2 yr multiple entry visa. You can send the email anytime before you travel, good luck and congratulations on your baby. 1 Like |
