I will rather say some unenlightened. My brother, people like Saraki deliberately starve his people of wealth and enlightenment so as to perpetually make them look up to him for peanuts.

barcanista:
If the recent posture of the Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki of recent times is connected with his 2019 Presidential bid, then he and his Advisers should wake up to reality. To be candid with Bukola Saraki, he will not be President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria whether in 2019 or anytime in the future irrespective of the party he choose to align himself with. It will be unpatriotic and immoral to even consider him as President of this country.

What Are The "Sins" of Saraki?
1. The alleged fraud by the Sarakis that led to the fall of Societe Generale Bank, which cost so many people their life savings and means of livelihood is still fresh in the minds of Nigerians. Bukola Saraki, his now late father, his sister (Gbemisola Saraki) and some their proteges were fingered in the fraud.

2. As Chairman Nigeria Governors Forum, Bukola Saraki was at the forefront of the struggle to deplete the Excess Crude Account which they successfully did after holding the then president by the balls.

3. As Governor of Kwara state, Bukola Saraki was accused of several corruption deals, some of which are under the EFCC investigation.

4. Saraki presided over the affairs of Kwara state for 8years and despite having his stooge and incumbent Governor Ahmed, Kwara state is still lagging behind in terms of capital and human development.

Other Sins Of Saraki
5. Sin Against The South: In 2010, Bukola Saraki was determined to see that Dr Goodluck Jonathan did not emerge PDP candidate (and President) simply because he (Goodluck) wasn't a Northerner. Saraki teamed up with PDP aspirants Atiku Abubakar and IBB to present a "Northern Consensus Candidate". Atiku Abubakar emerged as their "candidate". He(Saraki) went further to instruct Kwara PDP delegates to vote for the Northern Consensus Candidate (Atiku) in the PDP December 2010 Primaries.

6. Sin Against PDP: Saraki and other nPDP rebels despite riding to prominence on the PDP platform decided to work against PDP, factionalised the party and moved to APC simply because a Southern incumbent decided to seek re-election. (He should sort himself out with APC)

I believe the above reasons are strong enough for Saraki to be rejected should he consider seeking election for the office of the President in 2015 irrespective of the ticket he chooses to align himself with.

Who Should Be The PDP's 2019 Flagbearer:
If the PDP is keen on fielding a Northerner for 2019 Presidential election, then it should start by grooming Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe state. The Governor seem to enjoy relative popularity in his Gombe state and the North East. He also enjoys relative credibility from among his people. Also considering that the North East has never produced the President of Nigeria, his will be a huge advantage to break into the zone. A Dakwambo's pairing with a credible candidate from the South East (Mr Peter Obi for instance) will be a worthy team for the PDP that will give the APC a run for their money.

For the record, some of us supported Saraki for Senate Presidency to spite the APC and to check the influence of APC's Chieftains influence on the Senate. But that is it! Saraki should sort himself out with his "fellow progressives" but forget about the prospect of Aso Rock whether in 2019 or at any time. I have to add that Saraki's misunderstanding/fight with some of his "progressive elements" will nevertheless be a blessing to the PDP's drive to reclaim the Presidency from the APC in 2019.

May God Bless Us All
Who are you to tell Saraki to forget Presidency. His performance as Senate President will determine that. Mr know it all u should know all Nigeria politicians are currput

MizMyColi:

If I may ask....

1. Is PDP any different from APC?
If yes, in what ways specifically?

2. What are the political ideologies of the APC?

3. If an answer exists to 2 above, in what ways has she lived up to her mantra? Where none exists, kindly ignore.

1. APC is quite different from PDP. When you remove the major players like Saraki and Atiku etc, you will notice a different APC, the changes and reformations will happen with time because under APC, the above mentioned will soon retire from playing active governance roles unlike people like Tony Anenih and David Mark who will continue to be in government under the PDP.

2. Just like its campaign slogan, APC's major ideology is change! By this I mean, bringing about a more "conventional" leadership style, away from the "elitist" syndrome plaguing the PDP. Let me explain:

Under the PDP leadership, Nigeria continued to revolve or recycle the same league of politicians, from Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu to Bode George to Tony Anenih, IBB, David Mark etc, these people continue to play active role, not just side role, in governance. The youths of this country have no future under the PDP. This has changed a bit under the APC and it will continue changing for the better.

Under the APC, we're experiencing some radicalism in leadership, now people can gang up and stand up to persons like Tinubu when he becomes overbearing, this rarely happens in PDP, you will be expelled or stampeded upon.
People like Shehu Sani who are radicalists would never have seen the opportunity they needed under PDP. In Benue for instance, Daniel Onjeh would never have been able to contest election with David Mark as the PDP was in the culture of recycling politicians and imposing them on the people through selection and "sham" elections.

3. APC's political drive will bring about a lot changes in the Nigerian system, this will never happen under the PDP, sorry.

If the PDP wants to compete, it has to completely reform itself because Nigerians will not tolerate that "elitist" power system again

If you could relate this with religion, PDP is like the catholic or orthodox of religion while APC would be in the league of Protestants, if actually this is a worthy example.

Lol @ apc presidential candidate....Tinubu will rather support pdp or decamp than support saraki....he hates the guy with a passion. 2019 I'm sure tinubu will see to it that he looses his senatorial seat if he doesn't come out for presidency Under any platform And that is even if he survives the tsunami of allegations coming his way.

Right now he is sitting on a keg of gun powder
This is one subject that both APC and PDP fans are in agreement.

I think the PDP will still field another southern candidate for president come 2019. My money is on either Akpabio or Mimiko. Saraki is simply a tool being used by the PDP through blackmail and the lure of greed. When the election year comes the chaff will be cleared from the grain

Barcanista the very amusing analyst, how far? grin

1. With this thread and some of your statements on why you supported Saraki for Senate Presidency, you have once again proved beyond any reasonable doubt that you're not patriotic to Nigeria.

2. If Saraki was good enough to give a life to PDP, he should be good enough to vie for president under PDP.

3. That you SSers/SEners (especially you barcanista) can make case for another Northerner (Ibrahim Dankwabo) to be president in 2019, is a sign of hypocrisy that stinks to high heavens. This is because you've severally abused the SWners of following the Hausas blindly. You tag us as slaves. So, why can't you guys push for a good person from SS/SE as president?

4. Going by your permutations, a Southerner will not be president until 1927 at the earliest. It can be 1931 if PMB does two terms.

5. The reasonable thing for the SS/SE to do would have been to align with APC and hope that after PMB, a SEner will be made president. Unfortunately, I don't see that possibility with the way things are unfolding.

Finally, Saraki, Atiku and even Nuhu Ribadu have very slim chance of becoming president in Nigeria.

1. The difference between APC and PDP is that one is a devil wearing the robe of a Saint (APC) and accusing the other of being a Devil. The PDP on the other hand is in the process of reformation.

2. "Change" is just a slogan, it isn't an ideology.

3. It is on record that no party recycle more than APC. APC has the oldest Senator, he's 74years. The oldest Governor (Mansari) and the Oldest Rep. APC recycled Barnabas Germade, still Benue state, Bukola Saraki (Kwara), Aminu Bello Mansari (katsina Gov), Guanduje (Kano) etc. Who are the Youths in APC leadership? Don't go there man.

Even the APC "Youth" leader is a grandpa

I think the NE/SE ticket is the most viable or the reverse. SS (my own place) and SW should forget about the Presidency for now.
