@twaj, you can pay with your Naira Mastercard; I did the same. Sorry for the delayed response. Meanwhile, please has anybody who evaluated only an MSc, instead of both BSc and MSc, gotten an MR? |

candykenni: @ candykenni, you mean you sent the passport datapage by post to WES ?. Remember the transcript is meant to be sent directly from school to WES or was this sent by you and included the passport datapage in the package ?. Grateful for feedback and progress. |

Guys how would you assess these scores: R - 7.5 L - 8.5 W - 7.0 S - 7.0 Overall - 7.5 Should the person go ahead with the EE app or retake IELTS to increase R, W and S scores? Thanks all. |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by pampem: 6:49pm On Aug 06, 2015 |
Fortissimo: Hi, Not a bad one,met minimum language requirement but he/she won't have all the mark allocated for language. You can enter the pool once other criteria has been met. he/she can always retake the exam depending on your overall CRS. Kindly use the CRS tool to get an estimate of your score. Best wishes |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by Nobody: 7:19pm On Aug 06, 2015 |
pampem: Thanks a lot. Makes sense. It's my gf's score. |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by zandora: 9:53pm On Aug 06, 2015 |
Fortissimo: That's actually a very excellent score! Your girlfriend will get the extra 25 or 50 points for skill transferability depending on if she's got a BSc or MSc as she's got a minimum of CLB level 9 in each. She'll also get additional points for foreign work experience plus good language proficiency. If I were her I won't bother retaking the exam as it will only give her 9 extra points. Besides there is no guarantee she'll score R 8, W 7.5, S 7.5 and 8.5 again in listening (the maximum language points), but if she's got the money to spend then she should try her luck. My advice would be for her to get into the pool and if her CRS totals 450 or below try to retake the IELTS for the additional 9 points, or if her score is above 400 and she's not in a hurry to receive PR, wait it out for the draw scores to fall. Goodluck! 1 Like |

zandora: Please, do you know if one can claim points from job experience gotten before the highest evaluated degree? Say; one got his Masters in 2014, but had about 5 years job experience before that time and just one year experience after, will those 5 years prior to the Masters count? |

@ddestiny, I sent the passport datapage by mail to WES. The transcript was sent from school to WES. I initially delayed school from posting it to WES by not paying for courier when i applied for transcript. So, passport data page and transcript where sent to WES separately via email and by post respectively. ddestiny: |

candykenni: @candykenni, which email address did you use to send the passport datapage to WES ?. |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by zandora: 12:11pm On Aug 07, 2015 |
SlowlybtSurely: Yes you can. You can claim job experience for jobs you've had in the past 10 years regardless of if they were before your highest educational qualification or not. |

Forumites, Please I need an explanation on how the Skilled Migrant program works. But before I proceed; let me give a little background of myself. Currently I'm rounding off my MSc program in the US, and usually after the completion of an MSc program in the US, international students like me are given one year grace to work in the states. However, having lived in the West (America) I know that as an Immigrant your chances start the moment you become a permanent resident. Conversely, to be a permanent resident (for my visa status) I need at least to stay legal in the US for eight years - many of my friends don't mind staying that long - but for me; I don't see myself staying in the states for eight straight years just to be a permanent resident. When I evaluated my choices, I discovered that the best thing for me is to migrate to Canada, thankfully Canada has all the goodies America offers, and even more in certain aspects. Now, I am almost done with MSc in Software Engineering, though i did my B.eng in Nigeria majoring in computer engineering. I want to enter into the CIC program but my problem is that right now I don't know how to go about it. Also I'm thinking of getting a paid job in Canada; that I think I can do through online application, and have the company sponsor me for a permanent resident. Please I need a good Samaritan who can tell me all that is required for this program, and how long does it take for one to get a response. |
