Hello Guyz.. I am new on this forum, pls all necessary info on my asked questions would be appreciated. My wife has an appointment scheduled at the us embassy soon. She is going for an MBA programme. Currently she has her Nigerian passport in her maiden name not yet changed. What are the necessary documentation she needs to take along? What are the likely questions recently asked by the consulars?

Many Thanks!

You're referring to the secured credit card which does not come with money pre-loaded in it but you have to deposit your own money in it, say $350, spend and pay back the money. With a secured credit card, you are only spending and paying back your own money. This is in contrast with regular credit cards that come pre-loaded with an amount of money that you need an SSN to apply for. Those without an SSN can get the secured credit card but there is usually a limit to the line you can get on it, usually small amounts such as $300, $500 etc.

The secured credit card is basically building a credit history but using your own money. When you are approved for a secured credit card of $350 credit line and it arrives at your address, you are required to deposit an amount equal to $350 into the card and start using it.

Thus, in effect you can't apply for a secured credit card just because you want to use it to pay tuition, as someone had initially thought.

Abeg, discover no dey give unsecured credit cards to students again? I know that back then, all you need is an e-mail address with your institution name as host and you get an unsecured $500 limit which paves way for other cards like capital one and co.

Haha... You know that small nylon that has a thin lock used to give out pills in the hospital? That's ziplock. It will be found in supermarkets. Comes in different sizes depending on what you wanna use it for.

Plz my good friends, I think I'm finished here. Got to my school today for the reg. and dey told me my scholarship was a mistake that I have to pay tuition fee and my balance to be is. 9k dollars. I'm just confused dont know what to do. Any advise ?

Point it out to them that your reason of coming to study was because you got that scholarship and it was no fault of yours that they made a mistake. Talk to the Dean of Graduate School as well and I'm sure they will find some funding for you.

Guys, I found this Stanford application essay to be irresistible. Damn, if I were the admission officer, I wouldn't offer her the admission alone, I'm so gonna add scholarship to it! The imagination and articulation is just beautiful. Enjoy:

godG:
Adolf Hitler applied twice to The Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna, before doing what he did.

Hitler’s application did not just turn into a rejection, both
times. It changed world history.

1st September 2008: MP Israrullah Zehri comments on
the killing of five women for choosing their own spouses.
About forced marriages he said, “These are centuries
old traditions and I will continue to defend them”.

Abhorred by this statement, I lulled myself to sleep and
had a dream:

I dreamt of an acceptance from Stanford where I came in contact with an extremely gifted population of individuals, nourishing my public service experience. Going back to Pakistan I found the state of women no better than what I had left it. Struggling with the patriarchal tyrannical traditions that men conveniently and wrongly term as Islamic, all I could see in the eyes of women was destitute. And so, I dreamt of a change- a revolution. Educating and inspiring women, I aroused in them the feminism that crawled its way through fields as diverse as literature, religion and politics, penetrating every household, echoing in the cry of every woman rallying for her rights. Materializing this approach of upholding ideals in the female population, I dreamt of a land where every woman is free, equal and where I have fulfilled my responsibility.

Then I had another dream. A rather disturbing one. A
nightmare actually.

I dreamt of a rejection letter from Stanford. Disappointed, I joined the Pakistani Army. Won Pakistani military honour “Nishan-e-Imtiaz”. I formed my own party “National Feminist Pakistani Workers' Party”, became the first woman president of Pakistan and formed what they called “The Fourth Reich.” The rest…

Too violent for words.

Dreams are bizarre. Aren’t they? But they say dreams can serve as Divine inspiration or a prophecy…

Whatever it is, when you are making the decision of my admission, just remember that you just might be changing the course of history.

The only question remains, which dream do you want to
see come true?
