Um it depends on what brand and stuff. I bought mine for 279 euros. My hubby has one which is more expensive. Some people buy bicycles with motors so they don't have to pedal all the way . Those are more expensive (1000) maybe more. It all depends. Try to buy a bike on sales in Aldi . If not then buy at Real. They have varieties 1 Like |

Bros, if you come, no go puma or be like ben johnson. Settle in before buying a bicycle. @Zee is married to a citizen and perhaps works. We student have our 8040 euros and some arbeit to survive. When you ready buy bicycle, you go see better bicycle buy from student like you for give away prices. Good bikes are quite expensive cause it's hotcake here. Seen more than one friend buy bikes of between 40-60 euro. uchezdedon: 2 Likes |

A word of caution for all the guys coming in. For your VISA renewal, don't allow any buddy push you into getting the 1year VISA required for your studies. You can do it when your 3 months issued in Lagos is about finishing. Also, if you have a community of Naija peeps, you guys can stagger the renewal so that in 2016 summer/winter, you can crowdsource funds for for 2nd year renewal. This is coming from experience. daimlerbenz:Ya ur right. I probably forgot that most people are students. U do have to settle in first or join a Facebook trading group for ur city. U can easily buy good bikes at cheaper prices. |

Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by daimlerbenz: 12:10am On Aug 08, 2015 |
Idea is, for some schools, you are provided with buddies who are to see you through baby steps of settling in and registered. These guys tend to want to finish all the processes so they can get their pay. Hence a lot of you would be bundled to the Rathaus to convert your 3 month VISA received in Nigeria to a 1 year one for study. This way you get to waste quite a number of days on the VISA obtained from Nigeria. Fast forward a year later, you get to renew your VISA for one additional year. If you happened to change your 3 months earlier than usual, you get invited earlier. Hence you get to begin to hustle for a fresh amount for VISA renewal. If you did same say 2 months or more after your arrival, you also get invited later in the year. Thus way, you would have had good hustling during the summer holidays after your first year and cashed up more than it should have been if earlier. Takia. aibee01: 5 Likes |

daimlerbenz:In essence, wait till your 3 months visa from Nigeria is about to expire before you renew? And for further clarifications, one can work with the 3 months visa from Nigeria pending when the much more permanent work permit is out, or do people in your own area take up a temporary one? I have gotten conflicting and confusing views on this, may be its based on location. However, no think say you go escape the interview, even if na in two years time, we full ground dey wait for you. @zeeblamj, choi!! your answers eh!! so insightful with an effortless flair. I didn't even know you were a Lady self, the straight way you hit these issues with a hustlers' mode. Thanks for adding value to this honourable forum. @Oga justwise, no vex, I know sabi this quote things now, I go go find the nairaland manual. 7 Likes 1 Share |

To add to it. I was thinking of getting a German insurance fro three months. Some can be done for three months online and covers the required part for issuing the visa and staying in Germany. So why do a Nigeria insurance to pick up your visa for almost similar price or even more expensive and later the compulsory you must do to enroll and extend your visa. (Fast tracking 3 months forward) I think the German embassy dont care which company you use ones the requirements is reached. So German insurance can be added to your one year insurance or you can start your other insurance after the expiration of the one you did online. Anyone see some sense in this. |

I received the notification from DB yesterday-exactly 4 days after using Union bank for the form A process. So I guess you all who havent received a confirmation should exercise some patience. House, I used my Karlsruhe admission for the visa interview but I used my Munich admission to process the 8090euros. Will I face any challenges with the visa or there is no problem? Also, can anyone please explain the issue of changing schools when we arrive at Germany. Thanks 1 Like |

leochelcity:U do realize that what ur talking about is just not a letter. It's some kind of sworn affidavit . And if somebody takes responsibility for u and u mess up, that person is held responsible. U normally don't need a sponsor if u have ur 8040 euros and other necessary documents. Will be hard for u to find a person who will give u that cert without knowing u very well. My advise, if u have family who has around 5-10 million Naira on his Acc, that person can be ur sponsor. He doesn't have to live in Germany. wait are u even talking about? Am a bit confused. Have u been reading this thread? |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by willy2000(m): 8:45am On Aug 08, 2015 |
lmuhopeful:Absolutely no Problem. Once you are in Germany move to your preferred school and enroll. you can now use your enrollment certificate to convert your Visa to a resident permit. |

Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by willy2000(m): 8:53am On Aug 08, 2015 |
iyke20024:Number 1 is simple. Number 2 question is very tricky. I believe, they think you plan to stay after your study that is why you want to deepen your German skills. Number 3 should be a piece of cake for you if you wrote a motivational essay during your application. Your visa will be decided on Question 2. Wish i could come up with something for you. Anyway wish you all the best. |

Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Nobody: 9:00am On Aug 08, 2015 |
willy2000:well there is something called a blocked account with Deautsch bank. Getting 8040 euros in it is normally enough sponsorship. Have this and u can verbally say ur parents are sponsoring u in ur interview or whatever. They know u will get a small job when u start schooling anyway. Nobody necessarily needs to swear that he is responsible for u. |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by ogagaejay: 9:05am On Aug 08, 2015 |
willy2000: I don't think that is correct madam Zeeblamj. The person most be resident in Germany |

zeeblamj: Okay. |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Nobody: 9:08am On Aug 08, 2015 |
ogagaejay:So u mean u don't want to pay the 8040 euros. That's when u must get a resident in Germany to be ur sponsor . This person can't be a student oo. And I think most people on this thread are students. I am not but I am already responsible for two people. I guess I wrote that to the wrong person. Sorry. Ur right @ogagaejay . I misunderstood his meaning when he said sponsor. |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by willy2000(m): 9:17am On Aug 08, 2015 |
zeeblamj: Calm down no boil stone with your body temperature. Understanding your first comment and the reply you gave me was not an easy task. So if he was unable to comprehend you, i believe it was based on how you stringed your information together. |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Nobody: 9:25am On Aug 08, 2015 |
willy2000:Ah right. I thought it was u. Lol. Um well if u are using a blocked account, then u can only verbally say at the embassy that ur parents are sponsoring u. If u are not doing that, u will have to find a German resident with a a good record over there, and enough euros worth that can make a sponsorship cert for u. This is normally not easy if it's not a family member. A couple of years ago my own aunt refused to make one for me to study in France. So it's hard to find a person who will trust u enough to do that for u. |
