The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for fast-tracking the implementation of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) report on the clean-up of Ogoni land.

In a statement issued on Friday on behalf of the state Chairman of PDP, Felix Obuah, by his media aide, Jerry Needam, the party said it “Welcomes the announcement by the Presidency of fast-tracking the clean-up of Ogoniland as part of the recommendations contained in the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) Report on the devastation pollution of Ogoniland by oil exploration activities of the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) and allied multinational corporations.

“The PDP commends President Buhari for not discontinuing a process started by previous administrations, which led to the commissioning of UNEP activities in Ogoni as well as setting up of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Restoration Project (HYPREP), particularly by the Jonathan’s administration, all of which were being gazetted.”

We will prefer a nation formed by only south south nations were it will be difficult to have one major tribe ruling over us. For us south south, it is either one Nigeria or we will form our own nation. we don't want a country with Oduduwa republic, BBIAFRA republic or Arewa republic. That will be moving from frying pan to fire.

PDP has no choice here than to appreciate the president.

You are the one that lack common sense. if you don't have any constructive response to my post you don't have to comment. My position is clear. most south south people are ok with Buhari since he became the president. but the south east people have be trying to force us the south south to hate Buhari who we dont have any problem with.

the IGBO should not use us the south south as a Pun in their superiority struggle with Yoruba and hausa. it is their war not ours. simple.

we are not against Nigeria breaking. but if it must break, south south will not join anybody. we will form our Nation. what is biting you in that? because when the IGBO say they want BIAFRA all they actually wanted is Niger delta oil and not freedom. it is the simple truth and nothing but the truth.

There is a difference between the south south and South East position when it comes to BUhari vs Jonathan election.

South South people are not Anti North neither are we Anti-Buhari. We voted Jonathan because he is our brother. it was a natural thing to do. No matter how bad your father is, he is still your father. That was the basis of south south vote. It was not because we hate the North or we hate Buhari.

But for South East, it was purely hatred because of Jealousy and pains of Biafra. South East people hate the North. And also because Jonathan favoured even the south East more than South South durng his administration.

As far as we the south south are concern, there is no difference between the Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa. To us, these are three major tribe struggling and fighting for Supiriority. Whenever any of the three is loosing, he shout Marginalization.

my friend stop this poor blackmailing. I am from Enugu and am proud to be Igbo. I harbor no hatred in my heart for any tribe, my father told me about the tragic nature of the civil war and all that happened and he has since moved on, started a family. if my father who fought in the war has moved on and associate freely with other tribe why will I be bothering myself to hate others over a war that happened when I was not even born. for your info, I voted for buhari at nchia in eleme, and not only me, they are several Igbos who also voted for him. people have different ideology and interest in life. if a lot of Igbos decided that Jonathan was their choice then it is entirely their right to do so as this a democracy, u don't have to invade every thread that doesn't have anything to do with Igbos and start shouting that Igbos hate other tribes.
