This is to show you the true premises btw theist argument and that of atheism. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Tjayjosh: Before we can discuss atheism, we need to define it. According to an official atheism website, atheists define themselves this way: “Atheism is not a disbelief in gods or a denial of gods; it is a lack of belief in gods.” Those who identify as atheist prefer to emphasize their lack of belief rather than the refusal to believe. They consider atheism to be intellectually superior to faith in God. However, this definition clashes with the biblical worldview, which states, "The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God’” ( Psalm 14:1; 53:1). Since atheists can agree with people of faith that every human being has the freedom to choose what he or she thinks or believes, we will define atheism here as the choice to disbelieve in any kind of Supreme Being to which mankind is accountable. Statistics show that atheism is on the rise in countries that have historically had a strong christian influence. These statistics include those raised in godless homes, but they also show an alarming increase among those who once held to some form of faith. When we hear of a prominent figure in Christianity renouncing the faith he or she used to claim, we are left wondering, “Why?” Why would so many people stop believing in God when His handiwork is everywhere ( Psalm 19:1; 97:6; Romans 1:20)? Every culture on earth recognizes some form of deity, so why are so many people claiming they do not believe in any god at all? There are several reasons people may define themselves as atheists. The first is ignorance. Due to lack of correct information, a person may conclude that nothing exists beyond this universe and man’s experience of it. Since there remains a great deal we do not know, ignorance often invents ideas to fill in the blanks. This often results in either false religions or atheism. Sketchy information about God is often tainted by mythology or religious superstition to the extent that anything supernatural sounds like a fairy tale. Exposed to a mishmash of confusing claims, some people decide there is no truth to any of it and throw the baby out with the bathwater. Disillusionment is another reason some people become atheists. Due to negative experiences, such as having a prayer go unanswerd or seeing hypocritical behaviour in others, a person may conclude that God does not exist. This response is often fueled by anger or hurt. These people reason that, if God existed, He would behave in ways they could comprehend or agree with. Since He did not respond the way they wanted Him to, they conclude that He must not exist at all. They may stumble over complicated concepts such as hell, Old Testament genocide, or eternity and conclude the God of the Bible is too confusing to be real. Disillusionment propels people to find comfort in what is seen and known, rather than an invisible diety. To avoid the possibility of more disappointment, they abandon any attempt at faith and find a measure of comfort in deciding that God simply does not exist. Closely linked to the disillusioned are those who call themselves "atheists" when, in fact, they are anti-God. Atheist is a label some hide behind to mask a deep hatred toward God. Often due to childhood trauma or abuse in the name of religion, these people are consumed by an antipathy toward all things religious. The only way they can retaliate against a God they consider cruel is to deny Him vehemently. Events of the past have left wounds so deep that is easier to deny the reality of God than admit that they hate Him. True atheists would not include this group in their numbers, as they recognize that to be angry with God is to acknowledge His existence. Still typing... I'm an "anti conventional-theist atheist, just to be on the safe side. I know that Folykaze is lurking somewhere, waiting to pounce. My background is Christian, which means that throughout my childhood, Allah was already considered a fake God. I used to look at Muslims as fools and idiots, people who were engaging in time wasting on a massive scale. So as far as the Muslim was concerned, I didn't believe in God. All I've done in my present state is to add another God to the list of Gods that I didn't believe in. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Tjayjosh: an official atheism website, no such thing exists. Atheism is not an organization with recognized officials. but they also show an alarming increase among those who once held to some form of faith. When we hear of a prominent figure in Christianity renouncing the faith he or she used to claim, we are left wondering, “Why?” Why would so many people stop believing in God when His handiwork is everywhere ( Psalm 19:1; 97:6; Romans 1:20)? Many of us are now simply declaring outwardly what we have believed for a long time. The internet has helped. Disillusionment propels people to find comfort in what is seen and known, rather than an invisible diety. To avoid the possibility of more disappointment, they abandon any attempt at faith and find a measure of comfort in deciding that God simply does not exist.
The writer is correct but in the wrong way. The reasons he gives are actually very valid reasons to be atheist (lack of evidence, the mishmash of vague and contradictory religious texts, and failure of gods to respond to peoples' needs). True atheists would not include this group [those angry with god] in their numbers, as they recognize that to be angry with God is to acknowledge His existence. Still typing...
You are correct. They are not atheists. However we can be angry at the people who use this god to control, manipulate, and poison the minds of other people. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Half the post is squandered in subtlety emphasizing that atheists can or once held religious beliefs then later on realised its untruth and retracted, that half is pointless sitting that unbelievers also find the faith after years of unbelief. Its also actually harder to disbelief than belief, atheism is supposed to be a stance characterized by the search but lack of belief many share this stance but don't realise or are afraid to acknowledge it, hence it's supposed prevalence is not unfathomable.
Op don't get it twisted, when a mango falls from its tree it doesn't become a guava, it's still mango it's only fallen, the only reason it becomes a guava is if wasn't a mango in the first place(hope you know warra mean). That topic needs changing. 2 Likes |

Tjayjosh: But many people do, in fact, call themselves atheists while simultaneously expressing outrage toward a God whose existence they deny. Still others reject the idea of God because they want Him to be easier to find. When well-known atheist Richard Dawkins was asked, “What would you say if you faced God after death?" he responded, “I would say to Him, Why did you take such great pains to conceal yourself?’” Some people frown at the fact that God is spirit, invisible, and found only through faith (Hebrews 11:6; Jeremiah 29:13). They adopt the attitude that the creator of the universe owes them evidence of His existence beyond what He has already lavishly given ( Psalm 19:1; 102:25; Romans 1:20). Jesus dealt with this mindset when He walked the earth. In Mark 8, Jesus had just fed four thousand people with a sack of lunch, but the intellectual elites came to Him demanding that He perform a sign to “prove” He was the messiah (verse11). Jesus illustrated this hardness of heart in His parable about the rich man in hell who longed to warn his brothers about what awaited them after death ( Luke 16:19– 31). From heaven, Abraham answered, "If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even someone rises from the dead.” The most likely explanation for the continuing rise of atheism has not changed since the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:6; Romans 3:23). The very essence of all sin is self determination. By denying the existence of a Creator, atheists can do whatever they please without concern for future judgment or eternal consequences ( Matthew 12:36; Romans 14:12; 1 Peter 4:5; Hebrews 4:13). In the twenty-first cenury, self-worship has become culturally acceptable. Atheism appeals to a generation raised on evolutionary theory and moral relativism. John 3:19 says, “Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil." If human beings are self-created, self- determined, and self-centered, then there is no moral law or lawgiver to whom they must submit. There are no absolutes and no one to whom they are ultimately accountable. By adopting such mindset, atheists can focus on seeking pleasure in this life alone. As long as scientists, professors, and philosophers peddle their atheistic viewpoints as truth and wisdom, people will continue to buy it because the idea of self-determination appeals to our rebellious natures. The attitude is nothing new, but the changing cultural norms are making it more openly acceptable. Romans 1:18–31 details the results of this rejection of God's authority. Verse 28 says, "God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.” Our world is seeing the results of that depravity. What atheists call “enlightenment,” God calls foolishness. Verses 22–23 say, "Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools.” Since the “fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” ( Psalm 111:10; Proverbs 1:7; 9:10), then the denial (atheism) is the beginning of foolishness. do u beleive in allah? Allah is an Arabic word
that means “God” or, more
accurately, “the God.” In Western
culture, it is commonly believed
that the word Allah is used
exclusively by Muslims to
describe their God, but this is not
actually true. The word Allah is
used by Arabic speakers of all
Abrahamic faiths (including
Christianity and Judaism) as
meaning “God.” However,
according to Islam, Allah is God’s
proper name, while Christians
and Jews know Him as YHWH or
Yahweh. When Arabic-speaking
Christians use the word Allah, it is
usually used in combination with
the word al-Ab. Allah al-Ab means
“God the Father,” and this usage
is one way Arab Christians
distinguish themselves from
Muslims.
Before the inception of Islam,
most Arabs were polytheistic
pagans, believing in an unfeeling,
powerful fate that could not be
controlled or altered or
influenced by human beings.
Muslims regard Muhammad as
the last and greatest prophet,
and they credit him with
restoring to the Arabs the
monotheistic faith of their
ancestors. Islam and Judaism
both trace their spiritual lineage
to Abraham, but the God-concept
of Islam is different from that of
Judaism and Christianity in some
significant ways. Yahweh and
Allah are both seen as
omnipotent, omnipresent,
omniscient, and merciful.
However, in both Judaism and
Islam, God’s mercy is dependent,
at least partly and many times
fully, on man’s actions. The
Islamic concept of Allah and the
Jewish concept of Yahweh both
deny the triune nature of God.
They eliminate God’s Son, Jesus,
and they also eliminate the Holy
Spirit as a distinct Person of the
Godhead, For that i don't believe in Allah. |

Christians believe in one eternal God Who created the universe, and Muslims apply these attributes to Allah. Both view God as all-powerful, all- knowing, and all-present. Why does God permit ignorance? We could easily have been made omniscient. That we are not omniscient suggests that God wishes to keep some information from us. If God wishes to keep some information from us it suggests that the information is detrimental to God. If something is detrimental to God then God is not omnipotent. However God must be omnipotent. So, our ignorance suggests that there is no omnipotent God. This is how I explain our ignorance when it is claimed that God exists.
How would you explain our ignorance? 2 Likes |

I am angry at the people who started the nonsense. Sin entered the world when Adam and Eve rebelled against God in the Garden of Eden, and mankind has been in rebellion ever since. Sin’s effects permeate everything, and the suffering we see all around us is a direct result of that sin. But God did not leave us here to suffer pointlessly. Our loving and merciful God has a perfect plan to use that suffering to accomplish His threefold purpose. First, He uses pain and suffering to draw us to Himself so that we will cling to Him. Jesus said, “In the world you shall have tribulation” ( John 16:33). Trials and distress are not something unusual in life; they are part of what it means to be human in a fallen world. In Christ we have an anchor that holds fast in all the storms of life, but if we never sail into those storms, how would we know that? It is in times of despair and sorrow that we reach out to Him, and, if we are His children, we always find Him there waiting to comfort and uphold us through it all. In this way, He proves His faithfulness to us and ensures that we will stay close to Him. An added benefit is that as we experience God’s comfort through trials, we are then able to comfort others in the same way ( 2 Corinthians 1:4). Second, He proves to us that our faith is real through the suffering and pain that are inevitable in this life. How we respond to suffering is determined by the genuineness of our faith. Those with faith truly from God, “the author and finisher of our faith” ( Hebrews 12:2), will not be crushed by suffering, but will come through the trial with their faith intact, having been “proven through fire” so that it “might be found to praise and honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:7). Those are the ones who do not shake their fists at God or question His goodness, but instead “count it all joy” ( James 1:2), knowing that trials prove that they are truly the children of God. “Blessed is the man who endures temptation, because having been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him” (James 1:12). Finally, God uses suffering to take our eyes off this world and put them on the next. The Bible continually exhorts us to not get caught up in the things of this world, but to look forward to the world to come. This world and all that is in it will pass away, but the kingdom of God is eternal. Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world” ( John 18:36), and those who would follow Him must not see the things of this life, both good and bad, as the end of the story. Even the sufferings we endure and which seem so terrible “are not worthy to be compared with the coming glory to be revealed in us” ( Romans 8:18). Could God prevent all suffering? Of course. But He assures us that “all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose” ( Romans 8:28). So even suffering is part of the “all things” that God is using to accomplish His good purposes. His plan is perfect, His character is flawless, and those who trust Him will not be disappointed. 1 Like |

Tjayjosh:
The most difficult thing abou the christian concept of the Trinity is that there is no way to perfectly and completely understand it. The Trinity is a concept that is impossible for any human being to fully understand, let alone explain. God is infinitely greater than we are; therefore, we should not expect to be able to fully understand Him. The Bible teaches that the Father is God, that Jesus is God, and that the Holy Spirit is God. The Bible also teaches that there is only one God. Though we can understand some facts about the relationship of the different Persons of the Trinity to one another, ultimately, it is incomprehensible to the human mind. However, this does not mean the Trinity is not true or that it is not based on the teachings of the Bible. The Trinity is one God existing in three Persons. Understand that this is not in any way suggesting three Gods. Keep in mind when studying this subject that the word “Trinity” is not found in Scripture. This is a term that is used to attempt to describe the triune God—three coexistent, co- eternal Persons who make up God. Of real importance is that the concept represented by the word “Trinity” does exist in Scripture. The following is what God’s Word says about the Trinity: 1) There is one God ( Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 8:4; Galatians 3:20; 1 Timothy 2:5). 2) The Trinity consists of three Persons ( Genesis 1:1, 26; 3:22; 11:7; Isaiah 6:8, 48:16, 61:1; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14). In Genesis 1:1, the Hebrew plural noun "Elohim" is used. In Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7 and Isaiah 6:8, the plural pronoun for “us” is used. The word "Elohim" and the pronoun “us” are plural forms, definitely referring in the Hebrew language to more than two. While this is not an explicit argument for the Trinity, it does denote the aspect of plurality in God. The Hebrew word for "God," "Elohim," definitely allows for the Trinity. In Isaiah 48:16 and 61:1, the Son is speaking while making reference to the Father and the Holy Spirit. Compare Isaiah 61:1 to Luke 4:14-19 to see that it is the Son speaking. Matthew 3:16-17 describes the event of Jesus' baptism. Seen in this passage is God the Holy Spirit descending on God the Son while God the Father proclaims His pleasure in the Son. Matthew 28:19 and 2 Corinthians 13:14 are examples of three distinct Persons in the Trinity. 3) The members of the Trinity are distinguished one from another in various passages. In the Old Testament, “LORD” is distinguished from “Lord” ( Genesis 19:24; Hosea 1:4). The LORD has a Son (Psalm 2:7, 12; Proverbs 30:2-4). The Spirit is distinguished from the “LORD” ( Numbers 27:18) and from “God” (Psalm 51:10-12). God the Son is distinguished from God the Father ( Psalm 45:6-7; Hebrews 1:8-9). In the New Testament, Jesus speaks to the Father about sending a Helper, the Holy Spirit ( John 14:16-17). This shows that Jesus did not consider Himself to be the Father or the Holy Spirit. Consider also all the other times in the Gospels where Jesus speaks to the Father. Was He speaking to Himself? No. He spoke to another Person in the Trinity—the Father. 4) Each member of the Trinity is God. The Father is God ( John 6:27; Romans 1:7; 1 Peter 1:2). The Son is God (John 1:1, 14; Romans 9:5; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 1:8; 1 John 5:20). The Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 3:16). 5) There is subordination within the Trinity. Scripture shows that the Holy Spirit is subordinate to the Father and the Son, and the Son is subordinate to the Father. This is an internal relationship and does not deny the deity of any Person of the Trinity. This is simply an area which our finite minds cannot understand concerning the infinite God. Concerning the Son see Luke 22:42, John 5:36, John 20:21, and 1 John 4:14. Concerning the Holy Spirit see John 14:16, 14:26, 15:26, 16:7, and especially John 16:13-14. Starting a thread about atheists and then quoting the Bible at us is a big waste of time. Why would you try and prove the Trinity to people who don't believe in god in the first place? We know the Bible is man-made and nothing more than a collection of tales and myths. If you want to have a philosophical discussion, fine, but leave the Bible out of it, otherwise I'll start putting up atheist memes. 3 Likes 1 Share |

krattoss: It could have been better if we had believed in our traditional god than the jewish deity. If our traditional deities were true, they would have by all means prevented the christian missionaries from succeeding. |
