Greetings to my Bosses in the house and kudos for their useful contributions. I will like to know if I can receive a Positive Assessment from EA, having garnered six years experience in Process Operations as a Process Operator. The job role was gotten with OND, though I had HND. I later went for B.ENG, still in the same field of Electrical-Electronics Engineering. My major concern is that many of the job functions of a Process Operator require less of electrical skills like general trouble shooting and maintenance of electrical machines, pumps , instrumentation and control, etc.
Contributions from gurus in the house, especially the engineers, will be most welcome.

Ok thanks, I will opt for 189 after studies then.

lawland:
I don't think Victoria gives special treatment to their graduates so you have to apply like everyone else. .

@izykvision0,

Hello my brother, My School currently placed me in Melbourne, they also have campus in Ballarat, so am thinking since Melbourne is not a Regional City to gain State Sponsorship, I am thinking of changing my Campus to Ballarat where the School also has her Campus. Now my Question is if there are Job opportunities in Ballarat for Students and will one be qualified for State Sponsorship if studied there?

izykvision0:

Sorry didn't see your message and a bit confused how the messaging works on nairaland. You can as well post it here, will respond.

Ballarat is fine only if your Uni or work is around that axis. If not, it i will take you like 2hrs 30mins or more to get to the CBD; its quite FAR.

Study the above links, it will help you make a decision.

I won't advice u to plan for Victoria state sponsorship, if u still av d option of 189 or other states. Victoria is choosy and should only be used if they are the only route to obtaining PR. Since the situation is still under ur control, plan properly.

My program is Bsc in Nursing and my Campus is at Melbourne Campus. I will therefore opt for 189 on completion of my program and retain the plan of completing my course in Melbourne. I pasted my email for you to contact so that I can have your contact. I have applied for my Visa and plan to arrive Melbourne in Nov. (erictack2003@gmail.com)

Thanks alot for your assistance so far. God will bless you.

I advise you go for a 2 years program unless you want to register for another 6 months program after you finish the 18 months program.

You don't need to cc Justwise. It is not necessary.

Do a 2yrs program. With that you will qualify. I will suggest you a an Advance Diploma if possible.

Getting a course that offers Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas will give you an added advantage, with those two you can do one year final degree if you want. All depend on how much you have for the program but it will definitely give you the time needed for PR.

I think he meant that there's really no need to mention you so that his post is read. Other readers of the thread will see his post and comment, and so will you. No need to cc people.

Eric please correct me if I'm wrong.

Obviously you are wrong, i deliberately hid your post so as to hear from him first.

I think i have an idea why he made that comment but i will bite my tongue for now.

lawland answered that question without minding the fact that my ID was mentioned, that is the spirit that exist in other threads here.

What is this gradually growing feud between justwise and erictack203 going on here? Please let's not allow trivial things blow out of proportion for the love of the good works going on here. We already lost bossladymo1's immense and helpful contributions. Please let's move on, God Bless us. God bless Nairaland.

My idea is actually to discourage newbies not to bother you, else you will have more work to do. Your I.D is a popular one on NL and we appreciate you doing the good work.

As we respond to posts, we also try to protect the interests of the site owners/admin as well as appreciate the good works and the concepts you have.

In that sense, we try to correct any little errors that will cause the opposite/menace, eg, correct newbies from using Capital Letters in all Sentences, too much spaces, unnecessary long posts that will eat up pages and spaces, etc.

That's just the spirit. It's a lovely thread and we enjoy it here grin

I believe googling skilled occupation list Australia will do the magic for you.. or go to www.border.gov.au and type SOL in the SEARCH engines.

Hello house,
If you are applying for school in Australia and you want to apply for PR after studies, Pls chose school between South Australia, Tasmania and Northern Territory. That will give you extra 5 points for studying in regional/ low growth metropolitan areas. This states also give special exemption for students that graduated in their state when it comes to state nomination.
@Lawland, thanks for this info. btw i got an offer from TasTAFE for Computer System Technology package course from Cert II, III and IV to Adv Dip level 3years for $33k and also Gordon Institute of TAFE for Adv Dip Computer Systems Engineering, but am reluctance to accept the offer, since peeps on here said the IT job has been taking over by the Asians and very had to get job after studying IT courses. Pls wat about QLD is it a regional area? TasTAFE is the only VET have seen in Tasmania if u have any other school, kindly share if u have any other school in that state. Thanks

The entire Queensland is not classified as regional area, just some selected postcodes... That the Asians has taken over IT jobs shouldn't discourage you from doings it if its your dream, i believe you will be hired if you are amongst the best. By the way, the SOL should guide you on which course to apply for, if you are aiming for PR. Make sure to check with the assessment body to know the least qualification needed for the occupation.

Google regional Australia...u will get a comprehensive breakdown. There r some states that the entire state is regional I think QLD is regional except for Brisbane...Google it though...it'll give u a guide to stick to regional areas if that's what u want.
