Its quite a pity @ does arriving as 6 to the ans to d equation and stil claim to judicially know how to use BODMAS.

How cld you intro a bracket in front of a -ve sign without it affecting the equation in the bracket.
E.g
3+3=6
-3+3=0
-(3+3)= -6,removing the bracket -3-3= -6.the -ve sign outside the bracket ll definitely affect any sign inside when removing the bracket.
E.g
-3-3= -6
-(3-3)= 0,removing the bracket, -3+3= 0

Now,back to the equation. 3+3*3-3+3
By applying BODMAS.
Multiple, 3+9-3+3= 12, by solving frm left to right.
For those introducing bracket to the equation?
3+3*3-(3+3),which is very wrong.
The proper way of intro a bracket to such equation is,
(3+3)*3-(3+3) then BODMAS
6*3-3-3
18-3-3
15-3= 12
12 final ans

I saw the below equation on First Bank BBM channel and what i saw with great dismay was the poor answers people were writing. Seriously our arithmetical knowledge needs to be awaken because i can't see a nation developing with poor analytical skills especially with simple equation.

So Nairaland members lets see those with good knowledge of arithmetic and those who will embarrass their parents.

BODMAS...

using BODMAS
3+3*3-3+3
multiplication
3+(9)-3+3
addition
3+9+3-3
15-3

sorry guy, you don't know how to use BODMAS,
It's (3)+(3*3) -3 +3, minus 3 cancels +3

you r very accurate the guy doesn,t understand how BODMAS works

3+3*3-3+3=12. why is it 12? now we introduce BODMAS and can only get the answer if we use it how it should be used.let's start now
B for bracket( )
O for of
D for division
M for multiplication
A for addition
S for subtraction.
from d equation we are concerned about> MAS
I.e we do d multiplication first so we have
3+9-3+3 which is 12-0 coz -3+3=0. so d answer is 12.
Bros you subtract twice
It should be 3+(3×3)-(3+3)
=3+9-6=
12-6=6

Shame, how could this be difficult for any graduate? They are just testing your knowledge of BODMAS. This goes to show the abysmal level of our education. If you don't know the answer, go back to primary school.

For those saying 6,

3 + (3 x 3) - 3 + 3 = 3 + (3 x 3) +(- 3) + 3

Go figure!

The answer is definitely 12
Using BODMAS
no B
no O
no D
There is M

so we have 3+3x3-3+3
then we have 3 +9-3+3

we have A which is addition then S which is Subtraction
3+9-(3-3)= 12-0 = 12

A number possess a sign that precedes it (e. g -4 +6 mean 4 has d -ve & 6 has d +ve) if you wish to put it in bracket you have -(4-6) and NOT -(4+6)

Yeas boss!!! u are right, really an eye opener. for the lay men, lets jst do this, since Multiplication preceeds addition and addition preceeds Minus, lets rewrite the equation as 3*3+3+3-3 = ? guys the 12's have it

Very simple. ..

Use BODMAS

The correct answer is 6

You don't even know what bodmas is. Bodmas can also work as Bodmsa. Addition and subtraction can come anyhow.

And it should be noted that when lever you see a mathematical sign... There is an invisible 1 with the sign. 3 + 3 x 3 - 3 + 3. Mere looking at this equation, - 3+3 is zero. What you have left is 3 + 3 x 3, dealing with the multiplication first, 3 + (3x3) = 3 +(9) now see this, you can't just discard the bracket, you have to open it and to do this..... You have 3 +1(9) = 3 +1 x 9 = 3 + 9= 12.
