BIAFRA; A FANTASY FOR THE IGBO NATION The recent agitation for a Biafra Nation after the victory of president Muhammadu Buhari in the March 28 Poll have been disheartening, the president got less than 20% of the total votes from the Eastern states The late Biafra Warlord; Odumegu Ojukwu makes it more impossible when he seceded unprepared 48 years ago, in which the consequences was very severe on our Eastern Brothers, It will be a colossal mistake if you are agitating for a Biafra Nation at this period, although those who claimed to be Biafra betrayed their kinsmen severally during elections. Odumegwu Ojukwu contested for the presidency severally but got very few votes from his kinsmen who claimed to be 25 million in population. Few month ago, Engr. Martin Onovo of National Conscience Party contested for the presidency but they rooted in millions for a Minority Goodluck Jonathan, that was arrogantly mistreated during the Biafra struggle, while throwing their own in the gutters. The Ijaw people are calm about the loss of their kinsmen while our eastern Brothers are lamenting of headaches from their loss, one could fathom the exact reasons for their selfish cry if Goodluck Jonathan had develop their region immensely, but it is just glaring to see the extent of hatred that our generations have for the North because of a civil war most of us wasn’t part of. WE cry for Biafra! Yet we still carry the Nigerian passport We cry for Biafra! Yet we still spend the Nigerian Naira We cry for Biafra! Yet we still elect our representative to the National assembly Former President Goodluck Jonathan was reported to have said that “The unity of Nigeria is not negotiable”, we didn’t protest or call for his head but we all hailed and cheered him as a national leader but the agitations became intense when we had a new President. We should all direct our frustration to our elected public officials that have been embezzling our state funds and asking us to be agitating for a Biafran Nation as a bargaining chip for them, while they have been sharing Nigeria’s loot. We all clamour for equity in the new administration appointment but we forget that the North possesses half of the country. Assuming there was a Biafran Nation, The Anambra,Enugu,Imo,Abia people would all want supremacy over each other which would result into a divided Biafra. It should be noted that the former Sudan Nation didn’t have complex challenges like we did but they still broke up and have been in severe suffering on their oil rich land. Every tribe in Nigeria have their have their own peculiar tongue but we still fight for survival. During the dying days of Odumegwu Ojukwu, He wished for a united Nigeria that will achieve great things together and never asked anybody to pursue personal vendetta over Nigeria’s unity I urge all Nigerian to support the present administration regardless of our background and work hard so that Nigeria would be great again, The Federal Government should also endeavour to introduce programs that would further bond the spirit of brotherhood amongst her citizens. Op, i cant stop wondering what should concern you about biafra. If they want to go, let them go. Is there anything you will lose if they go? you are not in their shoes, so, you dont know where it pinches. The only thing i abhor about their biafra struggle is the senseless, thoughtless, extremely steupid ways they go about it. Check d comment of the eediot above me for example. Does it look like comment from someone with a useful brain? NO! It looks more like comment from a blind goat, whose only capability is ability to beat his empty chest. The eediot must have teleported from year 1015 BC into 2015. I mean, this is 2015 and not 1015. He thought people in this age are savages like the world he is teleporting from. The igbos sound more like savages with half-baked education when many of them talk about biafra. Only a few enlightened ones among them know how to handle things maturedly; kanu doesnt come close to that elite group at all; he is just a myopic rabble rouser. Sadly enough, he is the one leading them into rebellion, whereas his own family is tucked away in the safety of germany. Nevertheless, let them go if they want to go. Afterall, "To serve nigeria is not by force" |

You voted for you biafran nationals to go into the national assembly while they are pushing the hunger battered ones to continue shouting. Why didn't you ask your representative to ask for secession at the last National conference. If your genealogy participated in the war, they must have defined what it is beyond the dictionary's. You must be day dreaming if you think the SS would join in your fantasy. Do you think they have forgotten the inhumane treatment they not from the arrogant Igbo during the seccession? Read your history well, so you wouldn't be doomed to make the same mistake again |
