The issue of what Buhari discussed with GEJ should not even be argued upon at all. Haba! Have you forgotten the definition of "SECRET"? Only a child will expect what both Men discusses to be kept by just the 2 of them. GEJ definitely told his own confidants what he was going to Abuja for, likewise PMB will tell his own trusted allies and assistants what they discussed and both Men's confidants will tell their own Confidants.... and their own confidants will tell their own confidants... and eventually NL will hear because NL is someone's confidant also.

According to a source, which source? That source must definitely be Buhari. What a cooked up story, no maggi, no salt and no pepper. Una believe this...

Buhari made a lot of campaign promises, as in a lot. Let's not be fooled, if buhari is a very honest man,i expected amechi, fashola and co to hv started answering to the efcc. What we voted for was change, not political witch hunt. Pdp thought power would last forever so they looted massively, but buhari should knw that time is running out, I know many Apc's vocal and online campaigners who are now getting a reality CECH(like arsenal fans would say). From when he said he met an alleged empty treasury,I saw the plot of the whole drama, buhari is not doing ntin because he will tell you that he is recovering stolen money so that he can fufill his campaign promises. Although last time I checked Nigeria gets daily revenue and if he is a man who sincerely want to work, he would use the little we have to start putting things on ground. NIGERIANS PLS WAKE UP.

We are finally getting somewhere Hallelujah

He now knows common stealing is exactly the same as corruption and it was endemic under his leadership

Let me tell you this even though I'm convinced your programmed brain will probably discard the advice without considering it's merit.

You need to get a new brain or at least borrow some sense

In a modern society, people will advice Buhari not to go after his closest friends at the moment in executing his corruption war. Civilized people will advice Buhari to do the following:

1. Make bold statements consistently that anybody who is corrupt no matter how close to you must face it.

2. Make the environment and system practically impossible for both friends and known corrupt people not to launder stolen funds, make it impossible for them to run into hiding and make it impossible for them to gain access to tampering with records in government establishments.

3. Don't give them any appointments just yet. Until they are deemed fit by the Law.

4. Don't show them you hate them or you are planning on taking them down. Keep in touch with them when necessary especially at party levels but run your government without their direct participation.

5. Don't see them guilty until proven guilty by EFCC investigating them and a competent court of law prosecuting them. In addition to this, ask anybody with facts about their being corrupt to come fort with evidences and to the appropriate Institutions.

These are civilized things to do. Which of them has Mr Buhari not done?

Stop insulting a man better than you in all ramifications. Even those who keep shining light on GEJ's anus are not perfect themselves. If you doubt me you can google Aisha Buhari and see whether her name is not listed among those who stole from the country. Even PMB wasn't perfect as PTF Chairman. Let's not crucify GEJ as if he's the worst person in Nigeria. Remember that IBB has never been questioned for once for stealing from Nigeria. Let's fight corruption without insulting the ex President. I know that Buhari is not very happy that International bodies praised GEJ for his peaceful disposition during the last Presidential election and post election but must he ridicule him like this? Tinubu, Fashola, Amechi, Atiku, Mamora are being celebrated by APC daily while they feed us with negative stories about GEJ. They all went to see Wole Soyinka in his house last week and this week he's criticising GEJ. Am I surprised? Hell NO! Enough is enough!!!

sentimental crap. go back sit down relax and observe(steady reading of news) then come back after 3 months to comment. Otherwise avoid the politics sections. stop pouring out sentiments woman. we are tired of it. It dragged us backward for too long. Sentimentality!

There was indeed a huge corruption under the dry nose of this man. I had/have a client who worked under jona's administation. She buys my produce even before they arrive 9ja. She doesn't haggle price, 'keep the change' and sorts. Once she buys, na Godwin be my next song . As soon as Pmb won, she told me business might not be as usual. My dear, indeed it really hasn't been as usual. I feel bad about it though but I am happy. everyone should breath a fresh air. God bless Baba Zahra kiss

it's only sentimental when the comment doesn't favour you. Sentiment is when you let Tinubu, Amechi, Atiku, Fashola etc walk freely and arrest PDP members just because they are not with you. Go back to school and study your English well. Confused soul.

The first step to forgiveness is confession.

This is what GEJ has done. So, Nigerians over to you.

So that Prophet that said GEJ might have been under a spell while he ruled Nigeria might be right after all. He was under a spiritual bubble and he so much loated his critics. But now he has come forward to confess. Billions were stolen instead he thought it was a Yam and Goat folklore. What a world!.

Lets also remember PMB in our prayers everyday.

God bless Nigeria

this is another confessions that Nigerians are the most sentimental beings on earth.

so it's only insult when it comes from me and not when it's from you? Did you read your comment at all? If you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen. Yes I support the fight for corruption when it's genuine and general, not when a particular party is being hunted and another party is being pampered. I will believe wholeheartedly in buhhari's government once he probes Amechi, Atiku, Tinubu, Fashola etc.

In all honesty, a lot of things happened during Jonathan administration, unfortunately he was not aware and he solely put his trust and relied on the appointed personalities. This is quite unfortunate! The former president, Jonathan did not bother to supervise or monitor the activities of the people in his cabinet that is why they rubbished his administration with corrupt practices. He was ignorant of the monumental treasury heist that took place under him. Malok Jerry and Dele Ogunsakin didn't waste much time to fire him back on reading this statement he made.

In a meeting with President Buhari recently, it was gathered that the Bayelsa born politician was shocked when facts and figures were tabled before him about how corruption reigned supreme under his leadership. According to the report gathered from the private meeting, he was quoted to have said that he’s just realizing this corruption for the first time.
Facts, however, are beginning to emerge about the presidential meeting, which was said to have been facilitated by the former Head of States, Abdusalam Abubakar, former President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, Abuja was shocked to see how his aides milked the economy of the country dry.

We gathered that the meeting was at the instance of the 2015 Elections Peace Committee, after former President, Jonathan complained that President Buhari was not sticking to the peace accord they signed.

Jonathan was reported to have also sought for understanding on alleged corrupt practices and mismanagement of funds under his administration, with a source saying the former President claimed he was hearing about some of the graft allegations for the first time.
The report however claimed that President Buhari reportedly insisted that all looted funds must be returned to the nation’s coffers, adding that the President also restated his pledge that Jonathan had nothing to fear at all.

According to a source quoted by the report, the outcome of the meeting between Buhari and Jonathan formed the motive behind Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo’s declaration at the weekend that the target of the administration’s anti-corruption war was not Jonathan.

The report further disclosed that the former President was not comfortable with the way Buhari moved against his ex-Chief Security Officer (CSO), ex-National Security Adviser (NSA) and some ministers, asking the Abdulsalami committee to prevail on Buhari not to rubbish him.
Amazingly, the former president, GEJ has always been known to take leave of the truth. On so many occasions as president, he spoke from both sides of his mouth. At a campaign rally, he said stealing was not corruption. The case at hand now is so bad that even those he trusted who have come to him for succor are likely not to get the desired shelter because Mr. Jonathan has made it clear to them that everybody should now bear his father’s name whether you knew of corruption or not.

A source said, “This man is always economical with the truth. When the allegations against former Minister of Aviation, Mrs. Stella Oduah broke, what did he do? What of those alleged against Diezani? Was it not Jonathan who allegedly blamed the House of Representatives of inviting Diezani too much? Was it not under his leadership Diezani took the House of Reps to court? Was it not same Jonathan who allegedly said stealing was no corruption? Where did he get the dollars with which he was bribing traditional rulers from? Lie has strength, but truth has endurance.”

Another concerned citizen who were privy of this information said, “It’s so unfortunate to hear a chief executive of a country claiming he is just knowing if corruption perpetrated under his administration after someone's else has taken over the office, which means he does not have a way of checking people he employed to work for him. Anyway, Law does not know ignorance he should be punished according to the law of the land. The issue on the loot should stand, because it will serve as a lesson those thinking in that direction.”

During goodluck's administration, lots of civil society groups & whistleblowers sprung up, their aim was to let the people know the amount of 'stealification' that was going on in the country as at then. They went after most of the corrupt govt officials & Jonathan's aides, carried out a thourough investigation on their shady practices and fed back the media & people with the outcome (i.e for those found culpable). But as soon as it gets to President Jonathan, he would yank them off claiming stealing is not corruption. So, on that note, I refuse to believe that he was ignorant of what was going on under his administration.

This isn't a confession; It is a denial.

Can you honestly believe that the former president was not aware of the looting and raping of the economy while he was in office?
Can he actually convince anyone he wasn't aware of Diezani's shenanigans?

Thing is, he was spineless. Didn't have the guts to clamp down on his appointees. His words and inactions while in office had already indicted him before now.

The major problems with Gej was the lost of control of his government while in power.
Definitely, many things were going on under him without his knowledge.
But now that all the deeds are coming to open, if for any reason he is needed for interrogation on any account of what transpired under his government, he should obliged to clear his father name.

The lack of character of this government is appalling. The fact that a spokesman of the president could partake in fictitious journalism is incredible and should meet with criticism. The good name of the ex-president has been dragged through the mud time and again as a way to direct the people's attention from the day to day financial recklessness being displayed by the government. This is a futile exercise, for whatever has been done in secret will be revealed at the end of his tenure.
