Well this happened to me too, I informed the HR department that one of the panelist was my boss but was told that my Boss already excused himself from the interview before i entered after reading my profile. Would have been too awkward.

The only reason you retain your job is because you are good at what you do. It is against ethics of organizations for you to plan an exit without advising the company to train a replacement.

What ethics? Do the companies give notice before sacking?
Did they notify the other lady that went for the interview before sacking her?

What I know is, when you are sure you have the job, then advise your company. Otherwise, keep shut!
